The Walkera 4F180 - Where??
I purchased a 4F180 today after a long decision process and after watching the best video of the 180 series in terms of performance, "out of the box", not to mention the awesome look of the 4 bladed system!
I've owned a CB180D, MadHawk 300, CB180Z, V200D01, and a V200D02 and none of them had the FFF that this heli has. Not to mention, no pendulum effect!! However, there are no threads on the 4F180 here. WHY? I don't get it. What am I missing? Here's the video that helped make my decision. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwU6hiDl7lc[/ame] |

Usually threads start when people have problems. As far as the 4F180 goes I dont think ive read anything negative apart from some people complaining about the cost. So the lack of postings probably pays the 4F180 a nice compliment.

I added black skids and horizontal fin from a 4F200. Also got rid of the campy green decals on the canopy.

How does it handle the wind? I just bought a V400D02 and that thing is amazing in the wind. I have it set up for a beginner (which is what I am) and it flies like a CB100 on steroids. All I've read says the 4 channels would be tough to fly in the wind, and judging by what I see happen with the V400, i would tend to agree.
sorry about being long winded |

Mitchie,
I sold you the V400D02. This heli is great too. It's much more stable than a 6 channel, and the wind doesn't really affect it too much. As you can see from the video above this helicopter flies great!! All helis will be affected by the wind somewhat. This one is too, but I've learned to fly it with some wind (3-5mph) and it's fine. Anything more than that and you're just fighting to keep from crashing. Check out this video, this heli cooks! [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EwO9VG3FL2o[/ame] |

Nice video Blackhawk, excellent flying. I liked the way the heli still handled nicely as you brought it in to a tighter and slower circuit near the end of the clip. The faster circuits looks not to disilimar to the 4F200 in action. I definately want to add one of these 4F180's to my collection some time this year. Looks to be a great little heli with little or no negative press ive read anyhow

Basically its a V200D01 with four bladed head and the 4F200 tail. It still retains those miserable 180Z tail gears, so that will be a constant pain having to change those out. Nice head on it, but expensive. Fortunately, its parted out in the price lists so you're not stuck to replace the whole thing. I was considering upgrading my V200D01 to that head and leave the two bladed tail, but it was going to cost me $75 for the head parts without including the cost of the receiver, if it needs to be changed.
Then I remembered I already had a little heli with $20 blades sets, LOL! and probably didn't need another. I know who picked it up, and I'm sure we'll hear from him in due course...

My busted 4F200 I guess would be a candidate for a 4F180 mod, but past experience tells me that each time i mod one heli to create another the total upgrade cost ends up only $50 behind a new helicopter. My recent knee reco has shut down my heli budget for now anyhow. So I guess i'll just keep dreaming.
