No, however a dsmx tx will work with any dsm receiver.

Not correct, DSMX sats work just fine in DSM2 mode. Just make sure you follow the instruction of your FBL controller (some need you to pick DSM2 mode, others want you to set it up for DSMX).

Make sure both sats are the same though, either DSM2 or DSMX, mixing them could cause problems.

You got one more goof.....

A DSMX tx WILL NOT operate a DSM rx.

Remember that the original Spektrum radios were for Park Flyers using the DX6 and the AR6000 which were a DSM format.

The second incarnation was DSM2 which was the introduction of full range radios.

The third version is the DSMX which was designed for evironments where lots of models (over 40) were in the air at the same time.

A DSM2 tx will operate a DSM rx as the tx shifts to DSM mode. It will also operate DSM2 rx's in DSM2 mode. It will also operate DSMX rx's but those will only operate in DSM2 mode in that configuration. A DSMX tx will shift into DSM2 mode to operate DSM2 rx's but it will not operate the original DSM AR6000 rx....
