Default powering with 2s lipo

Setting up an E700 with a new GT5.2

Just would like to confirm that I can plug my 2s battery into imp1 & imp2 ports?

The manual shows joining battery with esc wire to throttle input, but I don't like that idea.

Manual only says do not put power into "term" port

I always plugged my BEC's into the throttle port on the GT 5.1 and 5. Looks like the manual suggest the same thing for the 5.2.
Once I made a y harness to power the RX and the GT 5 but it wouldn't work that way, I had to use only power to the throttle channel on the GT 5 for it to boot up and work correctly.

Since the manual only says don't plug power into the "term" port I tried pluging my 2s lipo directly into imp1, and it worked,

What type of receiver are you using? You must not be using those ports for an RX but are using the throttle channel for the ESC?

Good luck with it! I haven't tried the 5.2 but liked the earlier models. Surely it is improved some over the older ones with its faster sensors.

The 5 had to have an RX so It had failsafe and I never changed from that even after getting the 5.1 which supported Sat's with failsafe.

Don't forget to set failsafe by the way. Some of the higher end RX's offer better failsafe's than Satellites and basic RX's where all channels return to where they were bound at zero pitch on blades and zero throttle a couple of seconds after the signal is lost and the sys shuts down.

The JR 921X RX does that on my Trex 550 V2, its called Preset fail safe. The AR6100e on my 450 Pro only returns to where it was bound as soon as power hits the RX again waiting to boot. So if I'm going full negative towards the ground, its going to slam the ground pretty hard if I lose signal. But if I were high enough the blades would center soon as power gets to the Rx again and there might be time to save it.

For that reason its still good to set blades to zero pitch and low throttle when binding even with basic RX's and Sat's. Easy way to do that is to set pitch to 50% across the board on pitch page and bind at low throttle.
