Walter pretty much said they wouldn't be doing it as the hardware didn't allow it, but in the same post he suggested that it was probably just a matter of time on the AR7200BX, as that hardware did support it.

Not disputing your suggestion Dominic, I have no doubt you will be right, just pointing out that Walter's post pretty much said that they wouldn't be doing it, but Horizon probably would.

That having been said, holding your breath might be unwise, since this is the microsettings query thread, and we still haven't seen them, have we?

Cheers

To be honest I am fine with having no gov or letting the esc do it. I am not a big proponent of govs for electrics anyways. Personally i would rather see a multi-turn pot instead of the current pots.

So?

You will never notice 200/333Hz even on the tail. IN fact i doubt the internal control loop runs at more than 200Hz, so having the servo update faster than that is pointless. Not to mention that the servo itself isn't that fast.

Bump! I am about ready to trash my 450X and want to install the AR7200BX on a Trex 250. I know that you can just add to the 250 and setup, but I would love to wipe the default firmware (get rid of defaults for 450X) and start with clean BeastX firmware...

You cant, spektrum have not released any firmware for the AR7200BX so you are stuck with what you have.

You can wipe the settings, but not the firmware. If you need to, just reset the AR7200BX to factory defaults and go from there--unless Spektrum has changed the default profile. I've noticed the out-of-the-box defaults are different on the 450X than the standalone AR7200BX. If they've managed to make the 450X defaults permanent (burned into firmware) then you can always match settings to what is listed as default in the AR7200BX manual, manually and go from there.

Yeah Scott, I'm pretty sure that I read that a factory reset was different on the 450X, so I almost certain that it will restore it to the default settings for the 450X.

I guess if there was a microsettings, then you could load the default AR7200BX firmware as oppposed to the 450X specific one. Not insurmountable to change the settings I know, but yet another reason why this delay is a very poor show.

Just one more more slightly disgruntled customer I guess.

Two weeks, ha!

Cheers

I don't see the point you are worrying about.

The "defaults" just don't matter, since a 250 will have to be completely setup in any case.

No use making more work for yourself (and others) worrying about things that just don't matter.

You can still do a full reset without a USB thingymabob.

It is just that the defaults will be different than my other 3 AR7200BX's. It is easy to make a dumb mistake when 3 units default to "sport" mode (or any other setting that is different) and 1 defaults to "transmitter" mode when doing a reset (not worried about modes, just and example).

So... the defaults are burned into the AR7200BX for the 450X? That seems odd. You know, I bet there is a button sequence on the unit to make any setting default, then. I can't see them having different firmware for the bundled and standalone units.

I don't think it is burned in, but it is in the firmware. If you could load the "standard, non-450X" version of the AR7200BX, then you would get those defaults.

But like I claim, you normally go through each step anyway when setting up a heli, so I don't really think defaults are such a big deal.

HH promised open firmware to flash non 300X/450X/500X settings, but have not released yet, also stating the BeastX USB dongle will work. So, I don't need the microsettings, but would like the standard firmware - sorry for the confusion... I do understand that you would always need to go through every step and confirm/configure the setting, I just wanted to avoid dumb mistakes by having every unit start with the same defaults.

I don't blame you a bit. I wouldn't like to have different defaults. Suppose you don't use transmitter mode on another model and have swapped out an AR7200BX from a 450X to it? Funky. I mean, it's avoidable, but still...

I couldn't tell you what any of the defaults are. I set mine up once and have just been flying. I do adjust parameters from time to time, but I don't reset back to defaults to do so.
