Hi there! was actually looking at them at revolution models this morning! www.revolutionmodels.co.uk look very good for the beginner/intermediate! frame and build quality does look a bit fragile though! very good price for a beginner though!

Been watching one fly all weekend at the Orlando FF. Looks pretty darn good and is FAST in transitions. H to the C Henry Caldwell is smacking down with it.

I currently have one and I am finishing up the build in the next couple of days. Just waiting for UPS to deliver the engine. I have about 8 hours into the build and have everything in except the engine. Looks as though I'll spend about another two hours to complete.
This was also my first eCCPM build so it took me longer to figure out Ethe electronics. Someone with experience can knock off a couple of hours I'm sure. I don not think this is fragile at all. They do have a unique frame design that I really like. They have a top frame that holds everything except the clutch and engine. It feels pretty stout for an inexpensive heli. They are not released yet in the US, but are readily available in the UK and Europe. I spoke to ElyQ in Italy and they said they will have a US distributor in the next two months. They are very nice to deal with and have good customer service. Even though I don't speak Italian, Alessandra speaks good English. I hope they get here soon as spares will be a bit tough to get. I'd hate to have to go to the UK every time I need the non Raptor parts. They do use many Raptor compatible parts so other then frame and head parts most things can be acquired from TT or Maverikk. I purchased my helis (one for parts) from Midland Helicopters in the UK. I received it faster than the engine I ordered from Heliproz. I ordered it wednesday night and recieved it Monday. Midland was good to work with and all up including the ElyQ regulator it came out to less than $250.00 per machine. Now that's a great price as far as I'm concerned. I will post a build thread in the next few days with some pictures. I'm hoping to get a reasonable weather day in the next week and get it in the air. Have a great Holiday! Lou

I had a chance to fly Henry Caldwell's Vision 50 this past weekend and must admit it flew very solid and quick. Its a very simple design and if kits and parts are made readily available in the US as planned for early in 2009 it should prove to be a very welcomed addition to the 50 size market. I think ELY-Q sought originally to promote it as an entry level machine but after seeing it flown extremely hard by both Henry and Marcus the only thing entry level about it will be its price ! Big Bang for the buck !

What are the differences between this and the Raptor 50? They look identical from the pics I have seen except a few things.

The vision 50 has some same parts but the differences are:
It also seems lighter, but I don't have my Raptor anymore to compare it to. It is an easy build with good instructions. Easy to take engine out if need be. Haven't put it through it paces yet, but I have hovered it and it seems nice. Weather hasn't been good for flying. Way too cold and windy. I can take either cold or wind, but not both. Lou

Wow I want one, they have them in stock at www.emmodels.co.uk only £160 for the airframe only (no blades)
Seems just as good if not better than the Trex 600

I purchased mine from http://midlandhelicopters.com They were very good. I had the Heli in three days. They had good prices. I also purchased an ElyQ regulator. The nice thing about the regulator is that you can use it on Ni-cad and Ni-Mh batteries in addition to Lipos. I am running a 5 cell Ni-MH pack at 6.0 volts with the RX and Gyro running at 5.1. You can also select the voltage you want to run up to 7.2 volts. You plug each channel of your RX into the regulator then your servos into the regulator in another bank of connectors and get high amp output for the servos.
It's a nice set up. Lou

You can add bell crank and put servo up front.

Do you know where you can get that. The frames are set up for it, but you need some sort of kit to do it. I think the original issue had the tail this way, but they changed it in production. But I could be wrong.......
