Which aftermarket canopies work?
I'm not the biggest fan of the looks/colors of the stock canopy and was thinking about replacing it with a canomod canopy. I wouldn't mind if there was a bit more room to fit the battery, as well. : )
What have you all been working that fits/looks good? |

I put a canopy from a blade 400 on mine to see how it looked. It was all white with black windshield. It looked pretty good.

So the 400 and 450 canopies will fit the 450 x?

I wish someone would make one or blade would change theres.... Theres not even enough room to fit the stock battery under it it has to be "forced" in a way and is really tight.

Yes canomod does make a b400 canopy. I have one. You might need to email them about it. It wasn't on their site 6 months ago when I bought mine. Both canopies in my sig are canomod. One Protos and one b400

They don't really show them on their website but http://fusuno.com/ makes some that are supposed to be specifically for the 450x with more room for the battery. I just emailed them and told them exactly what I wanted. I have two on order right now, hopefully by next week I can post some pictures.

Even with the battery slid back close to the motor, I will still need to add two more mounting holes to engage it with the canopy pins on the frame. I only bought this white canopy as a test piece for paint... So, it "fits", but it doesn't fit "well".

My canomod does have more room than the stocker. How much I dont know. But it fits around my 45c 2200 Volts no issues. And holes weren't drilled so one can drill them back a bit further.
Just email them and ask them. Maybe they have a 450 or they designed this one for 450. At the time, I wanted to get a Trex canopy but have Blade400 put on instead of trex, then they came back saying they had a blade canopy. So I got custom paint on that

Get the 450 3D Inferno its a really nice canopy fits straight on and best of all you can see your 450X finally in the air. Blade releasing a black/blue canopy was just a inside joke because they wanted more people to fly out lose orientation and crash. It worked I had one of those. Now my heli basically glows bright orange and I can see it from 150 feet away.

I put one of those on mine yesterday. Unfortunately, I'm an idiot and destroyed it already...

Fusuno makes a 450ex
they are unpainted stock , but they will paint it any paint scheme they have from any of the other canopies on the site. They say custom paint jobs ship in 7-10 days . (450ex Is backed up some at moment, may want to check on real delivery estimate)canopy is $29.95, includes painting if wanted here is the discription "Check out this completely new shape Blade 450EX canopy which fits well on both your Blade450 3d and blade 450X. This new canopy provides more room for longer and bigger batteries (up to 6 cells batteries) for extra flight time. Be sure to be the first to get one by sending email to sales@fusuno.com to order yours."
