Default What went wrong?

Build it wrong or fly it wrong?

Hovering 6-12 inches over soccer field, bobbing up and down in the wind. Bobbed down far enough to put the skids in the grass, went pop and both blades departed. Didn't roll or crash, maintained orientation. TH and it settled on the skids.

No chips, scratches or anything beyond grass stains on the blades. Boom is fine, really doesn't look like a blade hit the ground.

Kind of thinking I built it wrong?

That's a tough one to answer. Did the swash follower arms come off too, or did you take them off? Thread lock on the feathering shaft bolts? No evidence of a boom strike?

It honestly looks like your FS bolts backed out and the grips separated. Lucky it was so minimal. Double check everything is straight, try again.

Don't forget the FBL spacers.

A couple observations, your dampers seem to be sticking out quite aways. Second, have you checked your tail servo case? May have been the blade strike. I always move mine to the other side, and at a lower angle to help prevent damage.

Cheers. Dampers pushed our without pressure, they don't usually push our that far.

No damage to the boom, servo case or anything. I'm guessing a problem with fs bolts to fs too. Just trying to figure out what.

And swash follower arms? Not totally up to terms, you mean like swash driver? They snapped at the head block, low head.

Have a look at the feathering shaft where the bolt came out from, is the thread still ok? Check the screw that came out of the feathering shaft, it should still be in the grip behind the blade, again check the thread. If these both look ok then the only explanation I can think of is that you did not use enough or the right loctite or did not tighten the bolts correctly.
