What kind of paper? How does it hold up?

Also, shouldnt it say 100 on there instead of 700?

Well, the long wait is over and thanks for the compliments!

What you see is my pain staking design for the paper/card stock MCPx Goblin Canopy. It was one thing to just get the profile pattern down to look like the Goblin and yet another to get the graphics incorporated. I've worked on this for weeks and generated the graphics from just a couple of pics I took off the net. I don't have any photoshop/graphics skills so that should explain why the resolution and details are not better than what you see... But the color came out great IMO. I tried printing my final pattern at home on an ink jet printer but it just came out too dull (olive green looking). I then took my master patterns to a professional print shop and they printed the beautiful vibrant green you see in the pic.

I intend on posting the pattern (.pdf) so anyone who wants to make this cool canopy can. If you've already made the paper TDR version of that canopy (that was offered in the other thread) you shouldn't have any problem making this one.

I hope to have the templates posted here tomorrow if all goes according to plan. I have a .pdf file that is presently too big to post and need to do a few minor changes before uploading

I'll also try and explain some of my techniques & tips that should help in the construction of this design.

So, hang in there a little longer and be excited, it's coming!

OK, Here's a little something more I need to share.

You're wondering how the Goblin Canopy flys right? Well, I haven't actually flown it yet on the Full Size MCPX.

My experience with the Goblin Paper design flying has only been on my chopped down BL MCPX (7.25" rotor span). At first, I thought the covered tail boom might cause some interference with the tail rotor(s)... but it seems just fine.

BTW I haven't flown a full size MCPX for months now, just because I'm so happy with my Ultra Micro MCPx design and how it feels & flys. Maybe now that I made the Full Size Goblin Canopy I'll give it a try again... maybe! he he

I actually designed the Ultra Micro Goblin Canopy first (about a month ago) and decided that trying to duplicate the outline/profile of the real Goblin Canopy just wouldn't work... the Ultra Micro MCPx is just too short/stout to make it work. So, I came up with a character design (kind a like a Smart Car) and went with that. I think it looks kind of cute but it sure doesn't fly cute, it's radical with the Spin 16.3 K motor. What-do-ya think?

Anyhow, the full version is what I'm going to share seeing that is what everyone else is flying.

Here's a couple pics to show the 2 designs together and a short vid of the Ultra Micro Goblin in the air!

Nice flying! Can't wait until I get to that level

Like the stubby version. Have you posted the files on HF yet?
