I finally got my DX8 working with RealFlight 6 and thought I would post my channel mapping to help anyone else with the same setup. This mapping works but based on the channel labels in RF6 it is far from intuitive.
Radio....... RF6 Channel ...Function 1................7 2................1 3................2 4................4 5................8 6................3 7................5 8................6

How did you get RF6 to see your DX8? Mine isn't ( I am plugged into the Futaba Interlink).
Is the 1/8" (3mm?) headphone like wire supposed to be mono or stereo? (mine's a stereo cable I had ) ...I've had G4->4.5 and then the RF6 upgrade, so I don't know/remember if G4 came with a cable (the one that goes into the back of the futaba is 1/8" female right ...or maybe this isnt' the right adapter for the interlink??) Thanks. Update ...I'm an idiot: DL'd teh RF6 manual and found out that I was using the wrong cable ...after searching, I found the correct one...posting in case it helps anyone else: The cable that plugs into the interlink has a male end that plugs directly into JR, etc. There is another cable that looks the same but much shorter and with a female 1/8" end ...that plugs onto the one in the last sentence and then the other end is for Futaba transmitters (so that end looks the same since the Interlink is Futaba. So 1 cable for JR/Spektrum ...and 2 cables for Futaba

I would appreciate help setting up my DX8. I used your channel designations and that has helped, but the throttle still does not start until 1/2 stick in normal mode. The throttle hold is on aux2. Could you please go through your whole setup of the DX8 so that I can follow. I tried the sticky by ironcreek but was not close. Any guidance would be appreciated.
Thanks, John |

I want to use a DX8 on RF6. Is there really that much of a differance between using the DX8 and the RF remote?

RF really is amateur compared to Phoenix sim, plug in a dx8 to Phoenix everything works easy even have dx8 selectable in the transmitter models. I plugged my dx8 into RF 5.5 everything was backwards, gear switch was throttle, settings were not easy to assign to channels didn't have a elevator channel in the settings truely a nightmare to setup. I gave up. Hence the others here who can't set it up either Truely disappointed. Will try those dx8 settings tomorrow but I'm not holding my breath.

Why the expectation? Phoenix is developed for Horizon Hobby, parent company of Spektrum. So of course it's going to be designed for HH's products. RealFlight is developed for Hobbico, parent company of Futaba, so it's not going to magically work with other brands of TXes. INMHO, having to setup controls is more real life like than magically working. |

However, I do understand your thoughts in this plug 'n play world we live in and have become accustomed to. |
