Default Spektrum throttle question on a new bind??

i sold my dx6i and got a dx6 radio my question is when i rebind the new radio to the receiver should i worry about the motor being reversed? i was going to take off the prop just in case but my generally speaking from new binds is the spectrum throttle channel ever reversed or should i not really worry about that? I just don't want to bind the new radio to the plane and have the motor be on full throttle when i connect the battery?

I KNOW THIS IS A HELI FORUM BUT I KNOW YOU GUYS HERE KNOW YOUR STUFF!!!!!!

GENERAL SPEKTRUM QUESTION

I would just for safety sake, but if the throttle is reversed, the esc will see a full throttle signal and likely wont arm. I know some esc's like castles wont arm until they see a 0% throttle level.

Exactly. 100% throttle signal on power up forces them into program mode. If you're running an AR7200BX, you're "double protected", too. It won't start outputting a throttle signal until it sees 0% throttle on its power-up.

GENERAL SPEKTRUM QUESTION
The direction of the channel I'm 99% certain in the current gen spekky radios is the same as the older ie DX6i, DX8.

99%. I'd almost guarantee it but for the fact I myself do not have a current gen spekky radio but you can see there is no difference on published Blade BNF settings for the throttle channel from your old gen radio to the current, implying this.

If you don't want to take the prop off, put a servo of known behaviour to your rx throttle port. That should give you more reassurance.

Now how you set up your other plank electronics otherwise, I'd have no idea. You may need to recalibrate your esc... that sort of stuff.

On my Hobbywing it explains to turn on the TX with throttle at full stick until it emits a beep marking the full throttle point, then lower to low stick and again it emits a beep recognizing the 0 throttle point and your set. How is this throttle range set on a castle esc? Looking through the manual it doesn't go into throttle range setup only states how to enter programming mode?????

On castles you reduce your stick travels greatly before you power up the ESC. Then you go full stick and adjust the travel in that direction until you get a signal and add a point or two more. Then you do the same for low throttle. I'm not too fond of this method but it is what it is.

Without the castle link or card (fixed end points) will the esc have to be manually calibrated every flight???

No. Calibration is only one time. After that you just plug the battery in and let it arm and your set to fly.

It's really simple once you do it once. Takes no more than a minute or two.

In the castle world you don calibrate the ESC to your radio but opposite.
The Castle have a fixed range of signal it need to operate and you calibrate your radio to fit the range needed and do it only once ore each time castle comes up with a new firmwareupdate.

Ok and this is the throttle calibration xont where you set the end point on hi and low to 30, then move to high stick and adjust the ATV up until it recognized full and vise versa for low? And again tgis can be done without the castle link or the card?

heres the video i used when i did mine the first time. You dont need to set the travel to zero like he did though. 50% for low and high is good enough.

He is using a jr radio, but it is similar, just will look differnt. Also, disregard the end about the flight controller
