Default Is the Logo 800's Reign Over?

Just looking at inventory levels. MikadoUSA has the White/Red kit on backorder. They don't even show the Green/Yellow kit anymore.

Looking on Mikado's website, they show the White/Red as still avail but the Green/Yellow as unavailable.

So, it looks like they might no longer even be producing these kits. Thats a shame. I have accumulated just a few parts for one along with a Scorpion 4540 with Abec7 bearing upgrade.

I was waiting on MikadoUSA to have their next 15% off sale so I could pick up a green/yellow kit along with a boom cover. Not sure if thats even an option now. My plan was to go 16S on this machine.

Anyone know what the situation with these kits might be?

At least parts are an option. Good thing as mine goes in once a year. Now my 800 is going on a diet. Once I get a few more things done I'll start a thread. I'm thinking I can loose a pound of weight.

Is there a garantee on pars availability for the L800? I love mine and would hate to not be able to rebuild it should I pitch it in.....

Maybe they are coming out with a updated 800 similar to the release of the updated 700.

I hope not. I just got mine not too long ago. Plus I just put a tail boom cover on it. I guess as long as I can get parts it's no biggie.

From world of heli in Europe is still available in both colors.
I do not know if mikado decided to stop the production, but in this case I think it is a very very bad choice, my logo 800 is my preferred heli and I hope mikado will continue the production.

I have emailed MikadoUSA on the situation for both the kits and the parts. No answer yet.

Also, earlier this year I saw Kyle Dahl with the new Logo 700 at a Funfly here in VA. Spoke to him for a bit and did ask him if Mikado is planning an update on the 800 similar to the 700. His answer was vague but did say yes, it was being considered. I doubt its something thats going to happen in the near future but you never know.

It would be unfortunate if Mikado did in fact discontinue this machine as there is a LOT of people still flying them and they are in demand. I've been keeping an eye on inventory over on the USA website and all the kits sold out pretty quickly. There is still plenty of 800 owners in the US it seems.

My understanding is that the XX series , 700 and 800 have been discontinued , and the designer of the XX series has moved on.

Some threads a while back about this topic.

That being said, Mikado has a good parts avenue. The threads mentioned you can still get logo 10 parts (vintage flybarred machine)

I have 2 of each and a 770 stretch , all fly great.

I'm holding out to see just how much lighter the new 700 is. IMO it will be lighter but how much I'd like to see. CF is light and machined alum bits are on the heavy end of the scale, but the 7/800 isn't loaded with alum either.

I get the going back to your roots (plastic frames) theory, but the XX series has done the cf/alum combo with some thought so it's not as bad as one might think.

I might try one out , but this time around I won't be begging for a first run machine. I want to see how the regular guy does with a new 700 and his overall impression.
A pro can make anything look good. I'm sure kyle could wring out a blade CP and make it look good.

So I'm hoping the parts supply chain stays strong for a long time in true Mikado form.

Well, after some back and forth with MikadoUSA, i managed to secure what I think may be the last 800xx kit in the states. It was an unlisted red/white kit but I had them swap out the canopy to yellow/green. Boom cover should be here in a month or so as well.

MikadoUSA stated they are currently unsure about expecting anymore kits but parts supply should continue which is great news and, along with the 10% off IRCHA sale, convinced me to go with the kit. Not many true 800's out there and the Logo has always been a machine i've wanted to own.

It will be a while before its built since I still need everything aside from the motor which I have, but one thing is certain. It will be 16S and geared for up to 2050hs. Stoked.

Quick question on this machine. Sry, I don't fee like starting a separate thread for this.

I see in the parts inventory on MUSA's website, there are servo mounting blocks for both Savox and Futaba servos. I will be running Futaba's. Do both versions come in the kit or do I need to order the latter set? Thanks.

Thanks rcm.

The kit arrived today! Beautifully packed. I have 3 big heli's including the 770. I thought that was big. Holy moly when I pulled out the frame and canopy on this thing........a true 800 is really something else. The 4540 drops perfectly into the counterbearing support with a few mm's to spare and suits this airframe nicely. I'll probably start building it this winter. The main thing now is, do I wait patiently for Kontronik to possibly release a 16S Kosmik in the next 6-8 months or just go ahead with the 16S YGE 200. Hmmmm.......

I seem to remember reading a post in one of the new Logo 700 threads, with comments about the frame design leaving options open for an 800. One of them was the there's a plastic insert for the boom so a larger boom diameter could be accommodated in the future. I seem to remember a few other frame features but I can't remember specifics

Much lighter? Do tell. Lighter motor, packs? BEC instead of Rx pack?

From some of the research i've done, i've read that on a heli this big with a disk this large, it is beneficial to maintain a healthy level of disk loading. Kyle Dahl ran 5500mah packs on the machine for this reason and some extra flight time of course.

If a light machine is what you want then go for it. Just trying to point out that if you lighten it too much in terms of pack size or overall weight, you might get a machine that is so floaty you might not like it.

I personally will be using 8S packs, but will have one set of 4400's and one set of 3850's for that really light disk feel. So I am curious on your lightening methods.

I don't use external bec's or Rx packs. I'm going with lighter packs, servo's, and lighter parts. Not worried about disc loading. It won't see as many flights as my others. I will post a pic or two later of my work.
