cheap build First Quad suggested build components

Dare i say it im looking at building a cheap but cheerful Quad, will be my first one..
and dare i say it again, im looking on HobbyKing website.. i know some of you guys hate Hk, and some think its great..
Basically i want to play and learn how to set up a quad, and learn to fly.. i have purchased a KK board, from Hobbyking, but want to know what components to add to my list
Please post up what you would use or what you do use, i would like to hook up a go pro and have a play eventually..

im thinking maybe buy the genuine DJI frame, and add Turnigy Multistar or Plush 20-30A esc.. just not sure what motors props etc.. keep it cheap. for a first timer.
