Default How to use the Pro Flex Starter System

I eliminated the pull start system buy just removing the pull start and mounting the engine directly to the base. Do I need to do anything else to cover the underside or is that okay?

Also, I just got the Pro-Flex Starter and am unsure as to how to use it. The directions are a bit complicated. If anyone can help, I appreciate it. Thanks.

Leave it open on the botom. You can take the starter dog off if you want to(make sure you have the nut on in that case). The proflex gets mounted onto your starter's shaft. Remove the rubber cone, take off the nut holding on the aluminum cup and remove it. Put the wand onto the shaft (the side that has the bolts) and tighten it. The one way bearing at the end of the shaft goes over the start shaft on the heli. Turn in a counter clockwise direction (left).

Suggestion for the use of the pull starter. Don't discount using it. Assemble as is leaving the option to use the pull start if needed. It is a good back up in case your starter, starter battery, starter adapter fails, runs down, or you forget to bring it(it's happened to a lot). Just throw in in your field box or transmitter case. Proflex starter, remove the start come on your starter attach the Proflex to the starter. It has a one way that grips the clutch shaft. By th way both the 231 and the older 23's start very easy with a starter, just prime with the primer bulb on the carb and spin with the starter no need to choke. Dave

Be careful not to put your Spectra over any metal small objects that can be attracted by the powerful magnets on the flywheel. It will attract all small metal objects.
