COmpatible FBL gyro for Futaba? Preferably not sbus
I'm buying a used 550 FBL and just got a Futaba 10j TX that I will use that came with an Futaba R3008SB receiver. I'm struggling to find what FBL gyros are compatible with Futaba, without having to deal with sbus (I only have normal servos)
Sbus seems very expensive ( sbus servos here are around $130),using decoder cables for each servo sounds like a rat's nest of cables, so I want to avoid that. Is the microbeast directly compatible with S-FHSS? Any other servo recommendations? Any help would be much appreciated! Last edited by HindandSeek; 06-22-2015 at 04:08 AM.. |

It's not the servos that need to be sbus capable but the rx and fbl unit. The sbus is just how the signal is passed from rx to fbl unit, 8 channels on one cable. I use sbus on my Trex500 with the Align ds510 and ds520 s servos.
Edit: Most of the fbl units are sbus capable. Save yourself a wiring mess and use the sbus if the 10J is capable. If not digital servos for sure will be fine.

I'm not an sbus expert but with the decoder leads you only need one lead from the flybarless control unit which then can branch out thru the decoders to the servos. Might not be much of an advantage on helis as compared to airplanes.

I just received a link to a Futaba S.Bus Installation - Video Tutorial on RCG.
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...2026/15%20Mass The YouTube Video link from the discussion. EDIT: This is about Giant Aircraft not helis, but it should help you to understand the decoder and S.Bus servos in particular and probably why you don't need S.Bus servos.
Which contained another link at the bottom of the page to a Futaba page on S.Bus http://www.futaba-rc.com/sbus/
