Default Unreliable sat cables. How to bring them back in service.

As many others I have dealt with sat cables that have not been reliable. I've had two of those cables that were notorious, they just would not keep a good connection, even when hot glued in place. Before last season I had the idea to put a drop of Deoxit on the pins where those sat cables were connected. And now, over one year later I haven't had a single issue with those (previously unreliable) cables. Deoxit obviously does a great job making a good connection for the connectors. So before this season I put a tiny drop of Deoxit on all pins for sat cables and servo cables. And of course I hot glued all connectors to secure them. No problems at all so far, things just works.

Good tip, thanks for sharing this. Also, I find it helps to give the cable end sockets a light squeeze with long/thin needle-nose pliers in order to make for a tighter, more secure connection.

Cheers,
TomC

Been using Pro-Gold and De-Oxit now for about 15 years. Excellent products. Treat all your connections.
