Default Servo life question. how long do std 8717 last on 2s lipo ?

I'm planning on taking the jr 8717's out of the 700n to put into the X.

I'm wondering how long do these things last ?

I have 200 flights on them in the 700n running at 8.4 volts (ar7100r rx) so far and 2-3 crashes.
None of the crashes needed servo gears.

I'm no 3d master but try to fake my way thru it .. lol

Plan is to run them on 2s lipo again in the X.

I already bought a new 256HV servo so that's covered.

Any thoughts or experience ?

Martin

Kyle has run JR servos exclusively in all his Logo helis, from the 400 up through the XX, with the Logo 500's, 600's, and the XX all using 8717's. Our highest time XX has over 500 flights on it, and no issues. In fact, we've never had a JR servo fail in under 1200 flights, and still have some high flight time ones in Logo 600's that have 1500 flights on them.

No, Kyle's not sponsored by JR (-:

Thanks , dave

I was hoping you would answer.

My flying talent isn't close to kyles so the servo's will have an even easier life.

Another quick Q

Still good numbers with the normal no HV 8717 running 2s lipo ?

Off to swipe servo's from 700n

Martin

We have never run the non-HV servos at over their rated 6V specs...probably why they last so long.

If i were building new today , i'd go with a HV rated jr servo (3yr warranty vs futaba's 1yr).

The specs on the 8917 look good. couldn't find the 8911 though.

I like the futaba servo's and being brushless should make them last longer again. On the other hand 1200+ flights on the jr stuff and a 3yr warranty is a big consideration.

For now i swiped the 8717's off my old school 700n build. Once i sell off my heli's and bits , i'll be able to pay for the XX and some cash left over. I'm quite certian i'd buy a new set of today's cyclics and sell of the 8717's (easy sell).
