With my new KBDD's EE 104's I am maxed at 122 still no wag.
With my Edge 105's I am at 90 before seeing wag.
Both setups with servo arm @17.5mm on BLS251.

Seems blades can play a big role.

Im pushed out to 19mm with head speeds set at 18, 19 and 2000. I have not tried getting it dialed in with the gov shut off though. Ill do that next time out.

Dan - I cannot imagine trying to get any kind of flyable setup with Express. It would be crazy dumb luck if so. For example, the torque precompensation, swash leveling for min/max pitch, vibration analysis...and on. It will be the best $50 you could spend for this. It might work on a torque tube tail, or a different design of machine, but the Vbar guys I've heard from when I was tweaking need the Pro features to get it to fly without tail problems.

No real surprise... lower mechanical gain equals higher electronic gain and vice versa. Plastic blades will flex more lowering mechanical gain, so you should have to run higher electronic gain... and vice versa.

I realize just didn't expect such a difference.
The KBDD's would take even more gain but VB is maxed out.

Holds well anyway except for my 1750HS, tail gives 6-8" on a full collective punch-out, all else it's good so I'm not worried about it.

I'm happy you're getting to fly it, Dan. Regardless of your tail issues, it's just good that you've got it in one piece. You'll get the tail sorted. It may cost you $50.00 for the upgrade, but like Rob said, it's well worth it.

Well I install kbdd 104s on mine but have decided to ditch them before maiden in favour of edge 115s. My thinking was that when I installed te quick uk tail it actually is shorter than stock by about 10mm so in theory i would have less thrust running longer tail blades should hopefully bring it back to where it should be.

Could also try the CYE 110's for the 7HV (is my next choice).
Currently flying the 105's on a custom tail.
Stiff, direct, They also seem to be very well balanced in the factory (very low vibes).
Edge 115's work great also, but damage easily with a bit rougher landings or uneven terrain.
(very thin, light, but also pretty fragile)
Of course to each his own, but Plastic on a 700 tail is not my cup of tea (tried them all btw).

WOO HOO!!!!
I put more flights on the 7 so far this weekend then I have since she was built.
The tail is holding rock solid through all that I can throw at it (which isnt much). The byrd is flying like a dream and I dont even have it dialed in yet. It is finally flying!!!

So what has made such a dramatic difference youre asking.
Did I upgrade to VBar pro and have the settings I needed to work out the tail issues? NOPE, Still running express.
Did I slap on some 115 carbons and all of my issues dissolved.
NOPE,
Still running KBDD 104s.

After fighting with it and having so many issues I finally gave up on trying to make the CC gov work.
Thats it, just changed one little setting in the ESC and adjusted my throttle curves accordingly and now she flys like a dream.

Yes I know that many told me to disable it and I wouldnt. I really wanted to make it work so that I could justify the expense but I couldnt. I gave it what I would call a more then honest attempt and it just wouldnt work for me.

I went with the CC 120 over the hobbywing for the gov and the logging. As it turns out the gov didnt work for me and frankly I never use the logging. In hindsight the HW would of been a better choice for me.

Thanks to everyone for their help and suggestions.
Time to fly!!!
Dan

WOW! I am so glad to hear this! I look forward to meeting you guys and drinking some Compass "koolaid". My lethargic setup will be with me, if I don't crash it before then. I've been flying with 500 rpm headspeed. Running 325mm tails. Have to hand launch it.

If you could drink Compass KoolAid, which color?

I'm down with Red.

Edit: I may have my wife mix up a batch for MAFF! Y'all are free to drink some!
