Default Microheli frame

Can I use the stock hollow TB WITH the Microheli frame or should I buy the solid tail boom? I'm afraid that the tail motor wires will get damaged once I tighten the aluminum tail boom holder using the stock hollow boom. Anyone run this setup with the stock hollow boom?

Ok thanks... I actually bought the whole microheli performance package.... Is this package just for bling or does it actually improve performance?

I think the dfc head helps performance and some parts add strength but there is a lot of bling as well.

Be sure to use Loctite for the blade grip screws...they tend to loosen by themselves...just don't get any on the plastic

Use a toothpick to apply to the threads of the bottom side of the blade grip

Stock hollow tail boom is a joke. You won't hesitate long as it is the first part to break (was for me), forcing you to buy a plain boom soon ;-) No pb since !

I've never had to replace a TB after I went to solid CF.

With a bit more weight and a lot less slop, the BL flies (to me and a some-what local) smoother and feels more stable.

I bought mine completely MH'd out, but with their normal aluminum head instead of the dfc. I've crashed mine HARD (on concrete parking lot or into the building) and only break blades, canopies, CF skids, and the replaceable canopy pins.

When I was learning to fly backwards I ruined several solid booms. They didn't break, but got so soft the tail wouldn't hold.

Wondering why they didn't start with solid booms in the first place?

Yeah, but they advertise both hollow and solid at the same price.

The great thing about the BL is it can handle extra weight. My BL with CF frame and fiberglass canopy still has plenty of power

Go with the solid boom. In fact the best option is the stretched one which provides better tail authority. Im using the Lynx one, everything else is Microheli.

The MH package transform the flimsy flumsy stock mCPX BL into a better bird. At least for me it did. More stable, more control. The price tag is high though, maybe not worth it.. Im not sure I'd recommend it, money better spent on a bigger bird I think.

How do you keep the tail boom from rotating in the Microheli frame?

I blame all of you for the broken tail boom I got today! When the original hollow tail boom broke because I looked at it wrong, I replaced it with the solid one about three years ago and have not had one single issue. My last crash was into concrete at high speed and I had to pretty much replace everything except that solid tail. Then, last night I read this thread where everyone is bragging about how well it lasts and today I went out and promptly broke the thing! Lost orientation while flying in low light, crashed tail first into grass and snap! However, it wasn't the solid carbon tail that broke, it was the plastic motor mount. It has since been CA'ed and then finished off with JB Weld.
