Default is there actually a 800 size heli?

I did some google and i found result for trex 800 and other 800 size heli. Is there an actual 800 size heli, or are people just putting an 800 size main blade on a 700 size heli and calling it a 800 size heli?

Try looking for "Logo XXtreme" on Google

Mikado has an 800 size heli, the Logo extreme. They showcased them at IRCHA this year...needless to say they were incredible.

would like to see a side by side comparison to the 700N...just to see how much bigger it is or is it just an extended boom so you can run 800 blades ?

Align sells an 800 size boom and blades, but I guess not really a "true" 800 size, the "Extreme" is on the way, sooner or later, lol... I love size in a heli, but man, as if 12S batts setups and esc's don't cost enough, a 14S and super costly escs to power them, damn, that's way out of my budget..

REAL 800s? Bergen Intrepid EB, Tazer 800, Intrepid Turbine. All swing 800+ blades and have been around longer than the XXtreme.

This is not a visual but, a mathematical side by side might be more objective.

Disc area using pi(r)^2 assuming 200mm head, bolt to bolt:

of 700

3.14(800)^2 = 2,009,600mm^2 (2.01m^2), roughly 6.6 square feet

of 800

3.14(900)^2 = 2,543,400mm^2, (2.54m^2), roughly 8.33 square feet

Differences:

2.54-2.01 = .53m^2, roughly 1.74 square feet of additional disc area.

2.54/2.01 = 1.263, or 800 is 26.3% larger than 700.

2.01/2.54 = .791, or 700 is 21% smaller than 800.

Airstar Mongoose

http://www.airstarintl.com/category/ASI-Mongoose.php

There is a guy at Van Nuys that sits in a lawn chair and flies one.

It also comes in turbine.

I think I have seen that Futaba Rep. Small World.

I imagine they fly great, but the crash cost must be a killer!

the logal xxtreme is loaded with titanium parts, since that is the strongest metal i would assume its tough but if you break one of those parts i am sure its not going to be cheep.

800's are nothing new but the Xxtreme is a fully 3D capable 800 size heli. There are plenty of videos on YouTube and others show-casing what can be done with the Xxtreme if you've got the skills.

Goblin has a 770 in the works but I have no idea if ita a grown up change or just a stretch.
