Default Just got a Fusion 50! But now I don't know what to do

Well, not knowing the situation with the parts for the Fusion 50, I found a good deal and jumped on it. I got delivered a nice looking heli with a good amount of parts and blades, lots TT, lots of lipos, and decent electronics for a 12S. But I keep reading posts about more and more people getting rid of theirs and people struggling to get parts. Now I don't know if I got into the right heli. I did buy another used OK frame with parts and I could probably repair 2 or 3 crashes if not too horrible. Anyway, I'm just getting into the heli hobby again after 4 years of absence, but never got good enough to get into 3D. I'm afraid I will have crashes and run out of parts. I read they are hard to get unless you buy them in a forum but in the forums you have to buy the whole lot or nothing. Not just a piece here or there. Or buy them from China or Canada and pay $$$ for shipping or never get the parts, etc. It seems this could become an expensive heli to maintain after all. I don't know, am I wrong? Need to decide if I should start flying the Fusion 50 full throttle, or sell it before it gets damaged and get something else like a Trex or something more available. What are your guys opinions?

Thanks.

I was in the same situation at the beginning of the summer, I bought a nib kit for a good price, also my first 600 size heli. It might be less expensive to start but in the end you will spend more in trying to build that stock just in case you might need. The other way with a heli that still have parts on the market you just buy what you need when you need. Another thing I found with heli's is that once you start with a certain one you accumulate spare parts and it's hard to change to an other brand after. Other then that I love my Fusion it flies amazing, did experiment two gear stripping but I guess those were also part of my set up HS was set to high and also not using the proper upgraded gears.

HeliDirect still is carrying lots of Fusion50 parts. I've had no problems finding parts when I need them.

HeliDirect does carry some parts, but most of them are out of stock. Can't even find landing skids. I had to use skids from a Trex 700. I'm just worried about the future. Should I start stocking parts from forum members now, or use that money and what I can get if I sell my Fusion 50 and buy a more available heli. I'm split, one day I want to keep it, the next I want to sell it.

I was in the same situation. some months ago had the oportunity to get my Fusion 50 from one guy that never finished it. I was about to publish it in classifieds, but man...this heli is so nice that I decided to give him the oportunity to fly at least some months, he deserved, so do I.
I had pretty much all the electronics, so in my case had nothing to lose.
Fusion 50 is the model I was in love since I started to consider this hobby. So at this moment I am enjoying this clasic.

It is a great heli!! It flies so nice! I already flew it a handful of times and I love it. I might just do the same and keep it for a while. I hope I don't change my mind tomorrow. Ha! The guys at the club keep pushing me to get a Goblin.

I gave mine away to a fellow Fusion pilot. It's really done.

Picked up 2 goblin 570's, extremely happy. Far more robust platform.

Well, i'm about to buy one with a bunch of parts. I had the 550 version and it was a great flying heli. With the Quantum motor it taught me most of my aerobatics and auto's. I know there's not a lot of parts out but it does fly good.

I also thought about the Assault 700 and the Frenzy 600e. What do you all think on those?

I just bought egiraldo911's Fusion.

I have a O550 as well.

I love a challenge. I guess it is one crash and done, so I cant crash.

The Outrage website just became suspended.

. I am having a bit of trouble finding a 0.8mod 12or 13 or 14 tooth pinion with a 6mm bore. Why did they select that weird pitch? does anyone have some pinions to sell?
