2 minute climb is awesome, still gives you enough time to go for a 3 minute one. I wonder if we can accomplish that???

Not to sound like I know everything, but he sure risked a lot more than his quad and phone...

I don't think it's safe to go up that high, also considering the area that is well occupied by a lot of residences...

This is fun until something really bad happens, which might not even be your own mistake.

Cool video, but fly safe!

The biggest problem with the altitude or distance flights is that there isn't a lot of battery capacity for making a mistake. The RTH is far too slow to bring your 350 back even reasonably close if you push it to the limits of your sight. I had this happen to me the other day and barely got it back - %19 left in the stock pack. The 350 goes A LOT farther with my DX9 than it did with my DX7 and that fooled me. And if there's a breeze it has to fight on the way back that even makes it slower...

That's why u descend with throttle almost at lowest point and every so often hit rth for 20 seconds (in case wind takes it) u could easily go up 3 to 3 n a half minutes if u lose signal then rth is then turned on and that's a problem because its slow! So basically don't lose signal

We all know the rules, most of us do, -to- some do not want to be bothered with, as the thread is about who has gone.. We will still chime in to remind us all, Be careful, keep it under control.. that said...

I see no reason to try to get this craft and a video camera high up, anything above 200 feet looks like 1000ft. anything above 300 feet looks like 2000 plus feet, etc. the camera gives that look. that said hope you reached your extreme height and moved on? Not worth the loss of your hobby..

Peace

First flight after my bad crash. Didn't attache the GoPro, but here's my altimeter after the flight. This is about as high as I dare go. I could barely see it. I flew in a rural area.

No the monkey on the Iranian rocket took that. You just have to love it when every one asks "How high does it go?"

Default altitude

I strapped on my smart phone with GPS app and max altitude screen. Shot it up for about 3 minutes in stability mode, then shut it down and waited until I could see it again (it was way out of sigh, took about 3-4 minutes to get back into viewt). Upon landing, it showed max height was 2,699 feet. I am at 450' above sea leve. So it went up 2,249' AGL. Not bad for such a short flight. I am sure it could go higher, but it takes so long to come down I would worry about losing battery and having it drop like a dead bird.

Please do not do this again.

What if you had GPS failure at 2200ft and the winds aloft were high?
Can you imagine how far your 350 might drift as it is trying to come back down?

What if you had mechanical failure way up there?
Since this aircraft does not glide it makes it much more dangerous if it comes back down uncontrolled.

A 2 min climb at full throttle the Blade 350 QX hits about 35 feet a second. Well over 1000 feet. I went up last night at 2:40 full throttle and hit 4992 feet per the A1 from Jolly Logic
