Seems like it depends on what web site you look. Most sites have a plastic shown, and Tower Hobbies also shows a plastic. Thunder Tiger's site shows metal, but under optional parts, shows the metal parts in there.
What do you mean a plastic canopy? Is it a thicker ABS, or a cheap thin lexan? Or is it thin fiberglass?

Well i know it's not what you would like to hear but you can easily fix the plastic bearing blocks :
upper and lower I know i know it's not in the kit, but still easy to fix (they are not that expensive) if you really want them. There is incident described in X50 nitro section here where according to Hector, faulty bearing block caused his crash.

The canopy is fiberglass, not plastic. I don't know what to say about the bearing blocks. The plastic ones seemed to be fine on the prototype I've been flying since septemble , the only time I've seen one break is after screwing up aerobatics in an auto, and watching it fall from about 100 feet with blades stopped, landing on it's head. That's about like hitting the head with a sledgehammer at full force, so I don't think anyone would expect it to stay together <G>.

no its a poly something of a plastic. i can slice it with a razor knife.,,the plastic bearing blocks will develop slop in short time with hard flights.

bearing blocks
on the table have not even flown it yet ,i can grab the head and make the bearing in the upper block to move back and forth..the bearings just slipped in the blocks with no force at all..so nothing really wrong with plastic bearing blocks??

That's really strange. I have three canopies for it and they are all fiberglass, including the new production green one. I'm absolutely positive due to the dust when dremeling. The motor I'm using is a few mm longer than thunder tiger intended, so I have to cut the top of the canopy to clear, hence the fiberglass dust. It's also obvious due to the fiberglass weave you see on the unpainted inside.

Hmm i'll let you know what mine is like when it turns up it's not far off now i've got all my stuff together for it can't wait for maiden flight but i'll need to do a nice slow build so i don't miss anything with it.
Cheers Luke.

I received my kit recently. My canopy is plastic. I will be installing the metal bearing blocks when I build it.

i would definatly install the metal blocks. i can wiggle the bearing in the plastic ones(only highend kit on the market that comes with plastic bearing blocks ) does align still make a kit with plastic ones?i belive it was great planes idea to greater profit to have tt put them in the usa kits.. just my opinion

yes if u go to towerhobbies it says "Canopy: ABS preprinted color shifting" . i think usa heli flyers sorta got screwed a bit with cheaper stuff in the kit for the same price.

Interesting. Guess I was wrong. Sorry about that. X series has only had fiberglass canopies till now , so this must be something new for the E version.

Just got word it is something new. The nitro kits are fiberglass and the E is plastic. Really sorry about insisting they're all fiberglass,.. the plastic is something new and with my machine being a prototype, I only have f/glass canopies and that's all that has been listed till now so I was not aware of it.
