Default Tail Servo Drifting

Hi,

I have set-up my B400 a few times now, but the last time something is a bit different.

When I power it up and the Gyro initialises etc .... the tail servo slowly moves. I have gone through the Gyro setup etc etc but there is obviously something wrong.

Is it the gyro or the servo ?

BTW using stock gyro and servo.

Thanks

Simon

I have the same problem as of 30 minutes ago. The stock servo did fine but I just installed a DS287MG and it's drifting. I'm new to this so sorry, no advice.

normal. common question. In HH mode the tail servo does weird things.

Switch to rate mode (gain <50%) and you will see now it works like expected! Centers and doesn't creep.

For some crazy reason. .the stock B400 comes with HH mode on regardless of the switch position.. crazy..

You DO need rate mode to center the servo arm and setup the tail!

Servo creep.

Typically one uses subtrim to stop servo creep.
I prefer to use subtrim, to stop the creep, based on what the heli does in the air, not on the bench.
So, if you are set up correctly in Rate mode and the heli drifts/yaws in HH mode it is probably due to servo creep and needs to be trimmed out.

Check out this Finless video on Align/Telebee Piezo Gyros, he explains servo creep:
