Default Question about the main frame.

Hello. I bought a used trex 550 awhile ago and crashed it a few weeks ago. I broke one side of the main frame amd ordered a new original one from www.flying-hobby.com. The only problem is that the frame I recived is diffrent than the old one. The main diffrences is the angle in the front where you mount the battery mounting plate and the new one is lacking a triangle shaped hole at the upper rear side. The seller told me the old frame was an original one and is seems logic because the old frame looks like the one on the picture displayed on flying-hobby.com ( http://www.flying-hobby.com/shop/car...mm-p-6491.html ).

Is there diffrent original main frames from the Trex 550? Im kinda confused now

welcome to the world of align 550 where things get changed with out any name or prefix,
you have bought a late frame as align don't keep spares for discontinued heli's or parts,
The way I see it you have three choices one is to find some one with an old frame.
or buy another align frame to go with the one you have bought.
or buy two new frames, send the one you bought back and buy a pair of up graded frames, 2mm thick CF, I use tarot frames which I like, they are stronger and cheaper than aligns, they fit well and take a lot of force to brake them, I haven't broken my tarot frames yet even after 18 months and 3 crashes,

+1 for the Tarot frames, cheap and reliable (thicker)

Tarot frame is an excellent alternative. The only downside is they are heavier.
