Yes it is.

I base this comment on fact that the LOGO Exteme 800 drive train is essentially unchanged in the 700. This should make the 700 nearly indestructable with regard to motor power for that size.

Now I couldn't remotely tell you how one flies next to the other, so this could all be moot if the Diabolo flies circles around the LOGO 700.

My gut feeling is that the LOGO will handle more torque, but that it will be heavier as well. The two could cancel each other out, or not. Time will tell and I'm in no rush.

BTW I'm not trying to take shots at the Diabolo. As it stands it would be next on my list to purchase. The Logo 700 will need to prove itself. If I build another 700, it will probably over the Winter.

Alright.... just got a promotion at work... time to celebrate. Gerd or Peak? Who's ordered from Gerd? Are there duties/taxes when shipping to the states?

I don't see the Exxtreme gear train as indestructible - I've had a good hands-on and was just about ready to build the kit when the Banshee was announced - the rest is history ....

FOr a start you're comparing a single stage with two stage, glass filled nylon with Delrin and a herring bone against an oblique gear. Apples and Oranges. The mod 1.5 tail gearboxes of the TDR and Diabolo are also MUCH stronger than the Exxtremes and the rotor head of the Diabolo is one of the strongest I have seen !

It certainly will be very interesting to see the Logo 700 and I am looking forward to it but to conclude that an un-released heli is stronger than a production model is at best speculation and at worst inflammatory!

My apologies, I was not trying to be infamatory. As I said it would need to prove itself in the field, and Diabolo may still fly circles around it. I have no experience with either and have not seen a Diabolo or the current LOGO 800 in person. As I said earlier I'm waiting for a number of things before I consider a new build. This includes the new Kosmik's, and possibly the next FBL control from Skookum. More importantly I need to become a better pilot so that I can actually appreciate some of the differences between these helis.

I've been through the Diabolo manual and it looks great. I really enjoyed building my TDR and I'm sure I would enjoy building a Diabolo.

I understand Mark's image of the XX. Their marketing is selling robustness and most of us believe the herringbone is really tough to start with. When you combine that with the fact that it's the same gear as the 800 the impression is of utmost robustness. I agree with John that us who have not even seen the Diabolo in person or seen it pushed to its limits can not really judge it or compare it to anything. I take John's reaction as a sign that the Diabolo is one tough cookie. He wouldn't go there if he wasn't sure of what he is defending. At least Mark's comment brought this up. Now we know.

I understand - not having a go at Mark more sensitive to the increasing amount of hype that comes increasingly with new releases ! If you belived half of what you read you'd be sure the Goblin is the unquestionable leader of the pack

I agree that there was a lot of hype around the Goblin, but generating that kind of pent up demand was just good advertising.

I like the genetic diversity that it adds to the RC Heli world, and I hope manufacturers continue to design new helis that have interesting designs and are not just knock offs of other helis.

I like what it represents more than what it is.

What it represents is a strong RC Heli ecosystem that can support a new manufacturer and that they spent some time engineering something interesting.

We only require 50% deposit. We never required 100% deposit those few customers wanted to pay in full, it was their choice.

Is it refundable?

With the helis in such high demand, why a deposit?

Sure it is refundable. Deposits ensure that the people that are on the reseve list are serious about purchasing a kit. In the begining I had just a resereve list and then when the kits arrived it took 2 weeks to receive emails back from from the people on the list and many people then changed their mind. This method speeds up the delivery of the kits when they arrive in the US and that is what is important.

I received my kit yesterday in perfect condition. Thanks Chuck!

Have you shipped any other kits to Hawaii?

From the type of helis you are currently flying it seems you will be well prepped for the complexity of this machine as far as cost I would contact Gurd directly and get the full story I saw the demo at IRCHA and the heli up close and personal and this is a superior machine!! Best of luck to you!

I flew a Goblin yesterday for the first time. Very precise cyclic, ok collective, very nice rudder feel, nice sound with the belt first stage. I flew it at 2050 and 2150 and I agree with someone who said it lacks character. It's ok, nothing mind blowing. Maybe for someone coming from a Trex it's heaven on earth. Having flown a TDR the Goblin is just "plain".

CNCJunkie,

No other kits in Hawaii you are the lucky one to be the first. Maybe once other flyers see yours flying there will be more kits to come.
