anyone dog bone links loose on there balls on swash?

flying with my father other morning we was comparing each others mcpx's and notice that the links from the main blade grips to the swash they is play back and forth on the balls. quite a bit for such a small heli i never had noticed before

is there play on a brand new one? os is the swash balls wearing? my swash was only about 5 flights old at that time. or just the plastic ball links wearing out? are they all driffrent size and some tighter then others or what is this why some go aluminum n swash do they take out the play?

my links are getting a bow in them to the outside i was thinking about taking some fishing line and tieing around the two to pull them back in to the center. i guess should just replace them but running low on them

Yep. That's what the canopy grommet mod fixes, when you put the spare grommets over the balls, so they push the links outward and take up that slop. Works on the servo->swash links, and the blade grip balls too. Can get smaller ones for the bottom part of the pitch links too.

Yes, the links are not of high quality from HH anymore and I couldn't even get them to checkout the problems. Early links were great fit and the latest links are junk. I've got a bag of 25 or so that are looser that goose poop! HH has either messed up the molds or their process is out of control. There are after market links from AEO but I haven't tried them yet. According to Dylan of Asteriod Designs they fit really nice.

Yeah my new links are super loose they go on easy and are loose on the swash and pop off to easy compares to the original ones

I also have noticed that the new links are sloppy and used the canopy grommets to take up the slack.

left over dampeners from feathering shaft kits work well on the blade grip balls

Thanks guys at least i know now that not all of them are like that pretty sure my 1st one wasn't so loose.

the feathershaft dampers seem like they would be to big but i will check them out.
I use the msr canopy grommlets on the metal links to the swash from the servos

The AEO links are fantastic. They do break easier though.
