Default Vbar and Futaba - endpoints/center

Hey guys, I've noticed on my last two setups that during the vbar setup of endpoints, the aileron/elevator and rudder(basically the spring loaded transmitter sticks) don't show as centered on the vbar. I'm getting values of -2 or +1.
These used to all be at 0 and I would usually have to change the endpoints down to 99 in the Tx to get travel values of +/- 100 in the setup screen. It seems like now the center value is messed up and se my endpoints are different.
I can adjust subtrim to get it centered in the vbar, and then adjust endpoints to get +/-100 on travel, but is this correct. Is anyone else seeing this? Is a sign that there is something wrong with the Tx or Rx system?

Thanks ahead of time!

Are your results static? i.e. once you set them to they stay? Can't tell if you are tqlking about drift to existing or a new setup that took changes initially.

I have always had to use both subtrim and ATV to set the transmitter screen perfectly. I believe that is the normal procedure.

Same here, both sub trim and end points are used to get 100 to -100 with 0 at center stick.

It's on a new setup.
Ok...I've have to se endpoints before to get +/-100 but I've never had to use subtrim. It just got me wondering since I've had my 8fg a little over a year and till the last two setups it always perfectly centered in the vbar without any subtrim. O well maybe its just showing the age if the radio. If this is commonly seen I'm not worried about it.

Thanks again folks!

Its unusual then, what you are seeing

Are you running the latest firmware on the 8FG, from memory a stick calibration got added at some stage, might be worth checking that

I do know my 10C can wander around centre with temperature changes but not enough to show up in vbar

I just did mine a while ago.

New fg8 radio updated to the newest 5.0 (i recall) software.

sbus into the vbar with 6203 receiver.

No subtrim and epa's dropped to 99 across the board.

I was impressed coming from jr.

Calibrate the pots ? software ? Guesses from the reading i've done.

Quick question though.

I like the cyclic stick real soft on my radio. IT actually took a bit of time to find the minumum setting.

Downside is that with little or very light tension you can get minor changes at center. As a test turn up the tension ?

Hope this helps some and you get fixed up and flyin'

I think I'm on the latest 8fg firmware, but I'll check that again.
I did loosen up my stick tension not too long ago and they are pretty loose..so I wonder if that may be the reason.

So Is there a way to calibrate the pots? Either way, I'm still using subtrim and endpoints to center stuff up and still flying! Should I not do this!!?

I'm still a futaba newbie so do some checking on the calibaration procedure. I noted it in the instruction book and saw it on the screen of tx. Didn't mess with it though as i would most likely do more bad than good .. lol

Sounds like your still flying and the system is running for you.
If things are going out of adjustment then it's something to look into it.

So again, is it static (once you set it the settings stick) or is it moving around on you?

It's static. Once it's set it's fine. It's just that for the past year subtrims were. never needed!

Well, I have only set up futaba 10C radios and they all needed both subtrim and ATV.

Sounds like you are probably fine...
