GoPro HD Heli mounts and anti-vibration
I am NEW to all the video stuff but decided to go with the GoPro camera HD for my first run. I have a Trex 500 and am looking for a good, stable mount and support frame and I welcome all recommendations.
Nothing professional yet as far as business or anything. this is more or less for fun or hobby. Trying to find where to go and what to do more or less. I have the camera and the basic mounts but have not found anyone with a support frame that directly mounts the GoPro....... Thanks for the help!

Here is a quick option.. I hope you have kept all of the mounts that came with your Go Pro,, even the mount it was fixed to in its original package.. this is what i did with that mount..
Take the square plate and drill a hole at each corner about a .25 inches in from the edges. take a thick sponge from under the sink,,or with better planning search online for some medium density foam. This will help dampen the vibrations. I have a Gaui 550 and mounted under the battery bridge using zip ties (snug but not so snug that you compress the sponge all the way). You will have to get creative with your T 500. Obviousely this is not a pro camera rig at all but a quick glimpse at what you can do with what you may have in your house. try a few options, place your heli with batteries mounted and balence check everything!!!! before aplying any power to any component. I have some pics some where and will try to post them later

Seaview Rotary Wings Team .
Watch in 1080pHD. First attemp you can see the high freq vibrations with just velco attached and high headspeed. juz, do you have any problems with rocking (pendulum effect?)
I modeled my pvc/pex tubing mount off of yours, and i get the rocking when I keep my velcro straps loose. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8_75Dw51-Y[/ame] thx! Lloyd

Hi Lloyd
No problems at all, with my mount... as you can see with my results. Maybe your straps are too loose? Maybe its the materials you used to build the mount? Too heavy? I am not sure. With my mount any side to side motion is eliminated by the angled alloy and padding around the skids. If you make it just like my mount it will work.. juz |
