Default engine problem

Today I went flying just sport flying in fm1 engine kind of died down on its own so came home looked everything over then I notice my engine has no compression at all. Did I ruin my engine. Took off pipe looked in backplate and I can see little pieces of metal. Oh when I was flying I head a noise I never heard before like something broke.

The engine are fried. You had a very lean run.

It was run too lean and/or destroyed a rear bearing. The pitting in the top of the piston is either from detonation or from pieces of bearing being smashed between the piston and cylinder head.
