Default Show off the scale bodies

Here's my semi-scale 300X Jet Ranger... this is my own design since I wasn't going full on "scale" anyway seeing that this is my "beater heli."

It's my first attempt at anything scale, but in order to keep up with the scale heli game you gotta start and practice somewhere, so here's my start into the scale heli world..... I know she's not perfect so please don't be too hard on me!Click image for larger version

Well I finally had the weather to get her out for the maiden since adding color.... all I can say is wow this thing looks killer in the air! Unfortunately I had no one to snap pics so I'm going to recruit my wife to join me this afternoon - granted the wind calms down a bit!!

I know right! Aside from digging holes to plant new flowers/shrubs and put in an irrigation system... yes!

You know Dale, she actually took the pictures and videos from the "maden-maiden" flight before paint/decals that I sent you...... turns out she's more than just a pretty face! Hahahaha jk though for real I am glad to call her my wife!!!

(now if only these beers were for real!)

Looks great! I see you got the strobe up on the tail. I drilled the hole for mine, but encountered something in the way farther down. I don't have them turned on in this pic, but you can see I ended up putting mine on the rear cover right in the middle of the white paint.

Looks Great ! 500 right ?
I thought i might crack the Fin while drilling so used only black tape fixing it. 450 fin feels very thin
And i'm using 2 leds at back Here's the pic.

Well to be equal the air frame I had flown and even hovered inverted and did lots of flips and rolls. My wife got me the Align 500e kit, but at the same time I had built a 500pro. So you could say that the heli had flown many times before.

What FBL unit are you using? Your second video looks great! I just have a Futaba 401 in mine.

Aah okay ! Still a maiden

I'm running on MicrobeastX . I never liked it on my other 3D ones but I love it on the scale ones . With little tuning it actually feels like the flybar ones.

Very nice! I did find the Beastx to be a great all around flyer. For 3D I like the Vbar. I keep thinking of changing my airwolf to FBL, but I must say with the FB it seems to fly more scale.

Here is the blog on mine. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1809602

Yup totally agreed ! You did a clean build
All of my other choppers are on vbar or Kbar only hahaha .
How much flying time you get on 2.6 packs ?

I think 3.3 will give more scale feel with heavy weight and a bit longer flying time .

Here's mine build thread for Airwolf 450 pro

Nice and really detailed on your build. Mine Had some issues with the linkage. That is why I changed them all. I am using a Hobbyking controller on the retracts to slow them down. I get about 6 minutes on a pack with the 2.6. My 500 pro got stolen so I have lots of 2.6 packs.

It's funny you said K-bar because that is what is on my latest scale build.
