Default Scorpion HK-4535-550KV????

I have had this motor since it came out and am thinking of selling it I don't know what the hell to put it in. TDR guys are the only one I know who bought the motor but I only know of one person who put it in there TDR. I personally will not put in TDR my 4530 does enough damage to my TDR I was going to put in Goblin but I really dont think its up for the task. I spoke to Georges in detail about this motor and given the fact that he says the only speed controller he would recomend in the YGE 320HV I don't know if I want to go there. Georges and I could not even think of what heli to put it in why the hell did I buy this thing LOL. Anyways just wanted to get a feel for what people ended doing with there 4535's.

Thanks

Default Goblin

Mines going in one with a canopy cutout. Why do you think it's not up to the task?

Compass 7hv is an option it can take serious power and big motors, has crossbraces, third bearing , huge maingear, all the right stuff, the tail is a let down but if you look on the 7hv forum you can see what i did with the rjx tail, not saying stock tail doesnt work but not worthy imop of the rest of the heli. I've been flying mine at 1600 and 2200 headspeed with powecroco spec 4035.
As for esc jive 120hv can take it, it's a yy winding which the jive likes, powercroco has been running these motors on jive at over 200 amps continious.
The nice thing about these motors are the low headspeed performance, they have tremendous torque so you can really enjoy it without having to pull max from it everytime.

I think the Minicopters can take it, Joker3 and Diabolo, main problem I see is how hard these LE are on the packs

Joker 3 hasn't the best gearing for this motor, Diabolo maybe... TDR wouldn't use it it anymore... I had a powercroco 4535 in my TDR. This motor performs really well in my Raptor e720 now. No problem with gearing, everything a little bit over-sized... great to throw the machine around.
But don't try this motor with something different than Thunderpower 65c... you'll kill your batteries within a few flights if you fly a little bit harder.
Escs... mine run on a HeliJive and a PowerJive both with lot's of cooling. I never had / have any issues with peaks above 300A.
By the way, you can also shutdown a 320A YGE...

Default I would keep it.

You will want it for something and not be able to get one.

Exactly...I knew full well when I bought mine it would sit on the shelf for some time before I found something to put it in. Haven't even looked at it yet and won't until I have a home for it.

There are a lot of misconceptions out there regarding this motor. I have one fitted in a TDR, it has a Helijive 120HV and I have been testing it with both Thunderpower and Nanotech 6S 5000 65C packs and no ducting.

The motor comes back running around 80*C and the ESC around 45*C-50*C Both brands seem to deliver very similar performance when doing speed runs.

The motor is a beast but I'm not convinced it has as much power as it's supposed to......My Faifa is still recording 30km/hr faster runs with a 4525 Scorpion......

I'd put it in and try it unless you have to sell it.

Regards,

Lance

I dont see the point I can shutdown my jive 120 with my 4530 if I fly hard why put a motor in and have to worry about how I fly imo.

I can shut down the 4525 also, and I can shutdown even less powerfull motors, at the end of the day if you want to be sure the only one is the yge320A.

But the fact is the Jive 120HV works well, unless you fly in high temps like an idiot.

Its upto you really. I know what georges said and yes if you wanted to get max out of the motor and drain packs in 2 mins thats what you need

If u drain packs in 2 mins then you would probably be speedflying, which means u dont have the massive spikes. The jive does over 200a cont

Default HK-4535-550 For Sale

Gents, Not sure if this is the correct venue, but I have a 4535 NIB that I would like to sell. If this is not the correct venue can one of you all point me in the right direction?

John, The motor is #00, which is the first one made and their were actually 51 made counting mine, which most people were not aware of. You can contact Scorpion and they will confirm and that I purchased it: Ray Davis. However, I just sold it to Danny (F1Rocket) at Esprit Model in FL. I'm not sure if he will keep it or sell it but you can contact him at Danny Melnik <helisales@espritmodel.com>. Many thanks for the reply.
