add castrol oil to synthetic fuel
So I run Cool Power 15% in my 91HZ-r and soon my new 105HZ-r. I have been told to add 6oz of Castrol oil to each gallon of Cool Power to protect my engine...
is this right? |

CP15% is rated to 17% oil content.
So adding 6 onces will effectively bring you to the famous 22% that OS is quoting as a recommended minimum. I would use Klotz all synthetic instead of Castor, or Klotz synthetic/castor blend instead of 6 onces of Castor. |

So I've been running with too little oil?
Where can I get the klotz from? Is there any harm is adding straight castor? |

Don't worry too much about this ...
Yes CP15 is a little low on oil - but if tune correctly the engine will still be fine. It's just (IMHO) that you have a little less margin to play with then with a fuel that has more oil. When CP15 was very very popular - many flew it straight with no added oil and no particular problem. Others added a bit more oil - from 2 to 6 onces. OS manuals recommendations for the 91HZ-R is to have a least 18% oil - so you are not that far. If you want to add oil - this is what I would choose: https://www.klotzlube.com/ecommerce/...al-techniplate Most motocycle/kart shops should carry this product. Adding Castor will not 'arm' anything - but I would temporarily only add 2 onces. Castor is a good lubrifiant but it can gum up/leave some residue & stain quite a bit (but 2 onces is OK). |

Pretty much what he ^ said. The CP 15% won't hurt you if you have the engine tuned properly. OS just specifies that particular % of oil so they get less warranty claims from people who don't know how to tune an engine.
If you want, get the techniplate, or Klotz BeNol (castor oil) and drop a few oz into your cool power.

Thanks Guys,
After your input I picked up some Klotz, has Sig's name on it, and I am adding 4oz to each gallon. what is interesting is the bottle says it increases RPM, among its other benefits. how's that? |
