Default Main blades

Can anyone recommend some good blades for the X5? I am not really impressed with the 2 sets of Gaui blades I have received. Air bubbles and such. I was thinking Edge blades, or maybe the 520 Aligns.

Edge and Mavrikk are good options, but I haven't had any problems with my two sets of GAUI 520s.

Running Edge 523's. Pretty good overall and not had a problem with them to date.

the gaui baldes are basically rails so they are a great blade. is it just a surface blemish that you are taliking about?

Yeah, surface blemishes. You'd think for $60 bucks a set they'd be a bit better than that.

any other blade you will buy in this size is atleast 70 bucks and i have seen surface blemishes in all brands EDGE. Radix, Rail. you have to remember these are hand made so they will never be perfect. small surface blemishes dont affect flight performance at all.

Yeah, ok, I can buy that. Was just asking. they seem to fly just fine. Just not use to seeing the blemishes. My 450 blades don't have them. But I can live with it. Curiosity killed the cat I suppose.

I love my X5. I just can't get into this Gaui Grin thing. To me that's just silly. But after I fly it, I do have a sh!it eating grin I must say.

I didn't like the edge blades on my Align 500, makes the cyclic softer and less pop.

I haven't tried any other blades on my X5 but the stock ones serve me well.
(Not the greatest surface finish, I'll give you that.)

All you have to do is polish them with turtle wax and fixes that problem

Edge mains & tails on mine. Cyclic's fast and they sound/look good I think.

u know my gaui 520mm blades have some issues in appearance but who gives a crap after flying them and seeing how awesome they are.

my friends cant tell the difference between the gaui and edge blades. most people seem to say the feel about the same. a few not so perfect spots on the paint job is not going to stop me from using them. your probably the only one who is going to notice.

Align's are good, better than GAUI ones. But have you tried SDC blades? Try to find them and you will feel the difference. I haven't flown with EDGE - because there is no place to find them in Taiwan.

Happy flying!

By the way - I thought you left this hobby

align blades are not very good IMO. usually they cost less than other blades and for the money there not bad but i have never really cared for align blades.
