Lynx Dameners with Alum grips not tight
Anyone else running the Lynx 450 Ultra dampers with aluminum blade grips? I cannot get the head tight enough in this configuration. The shaft, grips and dampeners are all new.
Yes, the head is built per Lynx directions, O-ring inside then bushing and finally shim spacer. In this current configuration it translates into approximately 1/4" of float on the blade tips. I can actually hear a "clatter" in the blades at mid stick during a test flight. I was thinking that I can try replacing the Lynx shim spacer with the factory spacer. I know that Lynx states that I should not use any factory components, but the head was tighter when I ran factory dampeners with plastic main grips.

I ran into the same issue and asked around a little to no avail. I just used the stock step washer instead of the little o-rings (shim spacer in the photo) and that appears to be working for me. It removed all of the slop and I haven't noticed any bad tendencies doing it this way as of yet. In fact I haven't noticed much difference at all versus the stock dampers. Maybe that's because I don't push the heli extremely hard or could do with a little tweaking to Dial 1. So time will tell if I continue to replace them after I use them up.
I suppose another option would be to double up on the lynx shim spacers and see if that makes it better since they do give you 4 in a pack.

Thank you for your input, it confirmed my suspicions that the lynx brass shim spacer was too thin.

Re: Lynx Dameners with Alum grips not tight
We add 2 set of washer because the part.. all the parts can have tollerance. Than if one shim like suggest as base are not enoght to have best lock you can easy add 2 in each side.
Let me know if this info help. Sent from my GT-I9500 using Tapatalk 2

I've got the aluminium grips and only needed one spacer, so as Luca said, there's always going to be a difference in tolerance.
I'm surprised if you didn't notice the difference swapping to the Lynx dampeners, are you running the stock motor? I've got a Scorpion -6 and the Lynx dampeners make it feel almost like a rigid head. When I first installed them, the stock dampeners must have been hiding the fact that the tracking wasn't right. The shakes on the first couple of spool-ups were really bad until I sorted the tracking. Now the tracking is perfect, very smooth and really precise flying.
