Default Vision50 Setups- what works n what does not

Im setting up a Vision 50 and was wondering what seems to be working for folks regarding electronics, and power systems. Better... what elements to avoid in outfitting a vision.

its tail heavy so do not be afraid to mount everything upfront including the tail servo.

use a larger 2S +3000mah pack

OS 50 hyper and the Outrage pipe makes very good power and mounts easily with no problems....

im using Futaba BLS 451's on 7.2v and love them....

consider these items too, this is what i changed/upgraded from stock:

1)CF Trex 600 Tail Fins (Stock plastic are p.o.s)

2)Raptor 50 Metal Tail Pitch Slider (The stock plastic one will break over time....do some research you will see)

3)CF or K&B tail blades (Stock are to soft)

4)Lighter Paddles (I put on Super Stubs, the stock are slow at 22g a piece)

thats about it, have a blast flying it....great machine!

Also, when assembling the tail rotor hub, make sure the thrust bearing can actually move. I was working on my yesterday and notice the tail rotor hub is about 0.25mm too short on each side. So, when you tighten the screw, it press on the thrust bearing and cause it to not move at all.

I chuck it te tail rotor hub on the lathe and faced it about 0.25mm on each side and now all is well.

I can't tell you for sure but I *think* a Trex-600N fan should work.

They are not the same. Trex600 and Vision50 does use the same clutch.

So keep it going, i should be needing to outfit one of these by next week if all goes well. what else is comnpatible? would a Raptor 50 or a T-Rex 600 head work? and would that be an upgrade to the flying or just make it easier to get parts?

Cool video i like your field it looks like a nice soft place to set her down if you had to bail out. thanks for the tip on the Raptor canopy fitting. did you have to do any modifacation? i would guess most all raptor 50 canopies would fit then.
thanks again

Im not sure about mods, with mine is just small thing with bottom mount... its not needed, it locks nicely above place where eyq mount fits. It just touches canopy and it stays there.... im not sure about other canopies "shapes" but its quite ok... with this one
