Default What's on your bench today?

Every time I'm about ready to finish my Exi, I find some new bobble for it.

Today it's on my bench while I figure out a better way to mount the SG servos. Or at least a method that I like better.

Yes D, I know the upper frame plates are on backwards, I wanted to see what it looked like without the EXI showing on the sides. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Looks good so far!
I like how you've put the SE V2 parts on it, especially the boom block and battery tray. Get that thing flying asap, you'll love it.

Here in Minnesota we have a very long winter and a really short summer, so when summer finally comes, we spend most of our time doing outdoor stuff. Working in the garden, touching up the paint on the house, playing a little baseball. When I do get time I'm flying the heck out of my Belts, and I'm afraid the Exi gets shorted. But I love it so far, even though it hasn't flown yet!

Actually I've been looking for a good way to remove the lettering on the boom without scratching up the finish.

I know you don't care about the lettering, but I figured you'd spot the reversed side plates and give me a hard time about it.

I actually likes the EXI bit one the boom, but i do like the look of the frames turned inside out - and i love the look of the grey with the blue washer bits
One thing though, how come you changed the metal anti rotation bit on the back to the plactic one? I always get comments on how nice that part is over the plastic one!

Looks good - I had a moment of utter confusion looking at the Align and EXI logos side by side before I realized what you did there. Maybe I should just ventilate better when I'm soldering

This is what's been occupying my workbench tonight. No 2221-8 yet, but the ESC by itself is a good enough excuse for a complete rewiring. Tomorrow it's on to mounting the 40A Pulsar and the spare Sonix 3500 kV on the MD500... The Esky bits are really getting scarce on my fleet now.

In the ad it looked like the anti rotation bit was metal, alas, when I got it, it was plastic just like the stock one.

The pictures really don't do it justice, the grey and blue is really quite striking when you see it.

Really looking nice there Mika!

I think that being a Belt owner and forum member is more about a particular (or peculiar) state of mind than it is about how many stock parts are left on your Belt.

BTW - More pics of your MD500 would be most welcome.

Thats strange, i got the nice grey ali bit on mine
The pictures of mine doesnt show how good the blue looks against the grey, but it does look awesome.
I have an almost full SE V2 head on mine now, just need the swash and flybar cage and its all blue then. I might look into buying the blue cnc bits you have, but currently my money has been eaten by the Trex....... 600.

Yes strange in deed, i think someone pulled a fast one on you in the shipping department, it supposed to be Cnc not plastic...

I would complain about that.

I already do

Just got back from a test flight. I honestly didn't think I would notice any difference, but my throttle has never been this smooth and responsive. Programming was stupidly easy with the supplied programming card - except that the instructions tell you to hold the buttons for two seconds, and I was kinda expecting the beep after the time has elapsed. Mine beeps as soon as I press the button, and does nothing further whether I hold it for two seconds or five. I figured the two seconds was in the instructions just to make sure nobody clicks quickly and lets go before the ESC is done.

Meanwhile, back at the workbench... In an amazing display of laziness-fueled dexterity, I managed to swap the motor and electronics on the MD500 without taking the helicopter out of the fuselage. Note to self: never, ever zip tie the motor wires all the way at the back of the frame again.

At least everything's nicely accessible now, and stacking it all up front really helps with the CG.

I kept all my settings as they came lol.
yep the 600 is a nitro. I was going to go electric as i already own a few packs for them, but I really wanted a nitro for the sound, smell and flight time. BTW, if anyone wants a 600e let me know, a freind of mine is selling his - It is currently AWESOME, every upgrade possible and spent thousands on it, but it can be returned to normal and the upgrades sold seperatly.

I thought I was the only one who would spend 1/2 an hour to avoid 10 minutes of work!
