Default 8 Cell setup. Which of these motors?

Going 8 cell.
Stuck between the lower priced 1910 1Y/H or higher end 1515 2Y F/H.
Both have KV around 1100.
Is one really better than the other?

Thanks

The 1515 is a drop in replacement whereas the 1910 will require a small amount of frame carpentry or else a vertical mounted motor as in the Rotorworkz HFE and HFX. The 15 is more expensive and a bit heavier - I'm sure both perform real well on 8S - I'm really pleased with my 1515/1.5Y/F on 8S.

Tell me about it !! 10 weeks wait ! These aren't impulse buys Henry Caldwell has used one to impressive effect and Lakespinner2 is happy with his and has FDR if you're interested. I find the power pretty scarey and dial it down to 75% idle up which still gives me 2000 HS on a 10t pinion

Default Wow!!

Wow is all I can say.
I got the Heli Version of the Neu 1910 1Y and some Evo 25 8S 3700 bricks and this thing rocks!
Pure power from the beginning of the flight until the end.
It runs so strong until the end, that I cant feel any noticeable drop off in power as a sign to bring her down like I did on the 6S setup.
It takes out 3000 MAH in 5 minutes exactly, so I've been bringing it in at the 4:30 minute beep on the timer.
Everything is nice and cool.

If I would have known 8S was so good, that's what I would have started with in the beginning.
The packs cost the same as the 6S 5000's and the motor was only $230 bucks and no broken shaft.

Thanks to all of you guys for the ifo on this setup.

Prepare to see a Neu 1515 2.5D up for sale and some EVO 6S packs

The beauty of the 1910/1Y/H is that you can run it on 10S. The fan works.

I've had my eye on those beautiful HFX frames for awhile now. Dont know if I really need them, but thats not why we usually buy things anyway

Tic: it is nice being able to jump to the 10 cell when needed and do a simple pinion change. I may just grab a 10S pack to see how it flies with that.

Quick question for you guys.
I'm seeing amp spikes in the 80's on hard maneuvers with 8 cell. Is the Neu 1910 gonna handle this? I think it's only rated at 55 or 60 amps.

Thanks Again,
Shane

Shane,

If you go 10s, you'll probably won't want to fly 8s much. I'm not sure how much power the 8s has in comparison to the 10s but I have a 6s and 10s and the 10s really rocks! I'm still trying to figure out how to get much more out of my 6s. I've got the Neu 1515/2.5 and it still keeps me wanting more.

I was wondering about the 10 cells raw power. 8 is pretty darn good. If 10 is that much better, I'd be spoiled and never go back Seems that 10 cell 3700's would put on a bit more weight though than the 8 cells?
Probably doesnt matter with all that power, but how's the weight feel in the air?
Are any of you guys running the 1910 1Y H on 10 cells? Looks like all I'd need to do is drop the pinion to a 10 tooth from the 13 thats on there, then go fly......SWEETTTTT!!!!

Thanks
Shane
