Yes I do! But the 180 motors are getting old and it'll be time soon anyways, so may as well go all out

Tried this today and hopefully will get a video of it to post tomorrow or the next day.

I have a very long hallway. Skidded the 180QX on its skids all the way down the hallway. Did a 180 at the end, came back on the skids and the lifted her straight up about 2 feet and then landed. Only problem I encountered was two of my cats where in hot pursuit. Fun!

Yes, the landing skids were added when they added the camera capability to the quad in order to protect the cam and provide a better landing platform with it on board. When it started as the mQX it was originally designed to land on the motor mounts. Good thing is that they hardly changed anything as far as the airframe from the mQX to the 180QX so that still applies if you don't want to use the camera. It definitely looks way cooler without the skids!

I picked one up a couple days ago. 14 minutes on a battery, are you kidding me. I love this thing! Flip of a switch takes you to three modes, it looks cool too!

It was just one of my mqx batteries, nothing fancy, timer was set for 5 minutes for mqx, went about 9 minutes past the timer. I figured it was something in the new design making batteries last longer. I could not believe it. Have not flown a battery out yet since then. I will retest it and update.

Default Just got mine today!

Flew straight out of the box, very easy compared to cp helis.

Calibrated in both modes and fit gear to shaft exactly the same on all 4 corners and it practically flies itself indoors. Flew around the house, up stairs and back, got 10 minutes from stock battery. Did put 10 clicks of left aileron subtrim in tx to fine tune slight drift.

Sweet bird. Going to play with video with #16 keychain camera just for fun this weekend. Got nav lights to install for night flying, too.

Follow the video in the bottom stickie about calibration. You won't ( and shouldnt) need that trim.

Hey, thanks for the comment.

I started with your video and also downloaded and followed the Blade calibration process. No doubt out of the box the bird went right in both modes...the right rotors did not start turning until well after the left...and calibration all but let the bird lift straight up. 10 clicks of subtrim is certainly different than any Tx trim. It is possible that the air conditioning pushed the bird a little right. I'll play with the subtrim in the garage with no air current and you may be absolutely correct. Flyting outside it will not matter anyway, always working against the wind.

I did not elaborate on this, but 2 of the 4 rotor shafts had vertical play, meaning they were affecting the trim. I actually had to redo the calibration after getting all 4 exactly the same. Very sensitive!! I like this a lot.

Thanks again!
Alan

Default LED Headlights!

Had a pack of prewired white LED's in the electronics box left over from another project, so I added headlights to my 180. Sure helps with orientation, and cost me $0! Power for the LEDs was taken from the 1S flight battery by simply pigtailing the wiring harness into the back of the on-board JST connector. Lights are on when battery is plugged in.
