Default Esky 900

I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this heli. I take it is a new model? Anybody have any thoughts or concerns regarding this one, as I am looking for another bird to add to the fleet and this one fits the budget, and don't mind the esky products.

I love the canopy, on these. I wish they were FG. They look better then the stock trex500 one. This model came out around xmas.
It will get some second looks at the feild because its not the vanilla trex everyone has so it might be worth it just to hear them say "That's an Esky?"
I thought about grabbing one just to play with but went the HobbyCity 500 route instead, as the GT shipped is about the same as this and has a CNC head and I can share my spares between it and the 500.

I really like the way that one looks but everyone in the Belt CP forums tells me to stay away from it. They think it might not be around long enough to get parts for it. I might get one anyway after I "master" the Belt CP first.

Yeah, I've heard that too, but, none of the people slamming it actually have one.

Could be they be remembering the short lived Esmart ??

Do you guys think we should have a forum for them in the Esky forums?

No, It's not the E-Smart.

It's new one they call it a 900 based on the rotor diameter of 929mm

http://www.twf-sz.com/english/products.asp?prodid=0327

I've been trying to find one that's actually for sale. No luck so far.

Hi Jack, yes I know what you mean. I just mentioned the Esmart as an Esky model they suddenly withdrew leaving owners high and dry with no parts supply. They've done it once so it wouldn't surprise me if it happened again with the 900.

Boy I really need a cup of coffee-

Bugster- even if there aren't a lot of E-Smart owners here right now, I think that a seperate E-Smart forum would have more Google search hits and lead more guys here.

There was some E-smart coverage in the begining days of the Esky Belt forum, but if you don't know it's there, you probably wouldn't find it.

It's just a scaled up Belt cp... You just have to look at the pictures. I have seen people bashing it on the Belt CP section, I haven't myself but I don't really blame them after the Esmart. The Belt CP is a good heli for learning to hover and do figure 8s and some inverted, but after that, you leave it alone and get a better heli. I doubt the 900 would be a really great heli because it's head design is the same as the Belt CP but I could not say because I have never flown one.

I don't see why anyone would risk buying one of these when you can get an EXI 500 for $77 off that site. Just look at the head on the EXI 500. It is all aluminium and is a MUCH better design.

http://www.xheli.com/exi-500-plastic...elicopter.html

Not bashing the 900 but I don't see the logic when you can get a Trex 500 replica for less.

EDIT: For anyone who CBA to look on the link, here's the EXI 500, compared to the Esky 900:

I have one and it's a great heli very solid and responsive and it is quite fast.
I like it that much I have another one coming on monday or tuesday.
They really are a very good heli well made and are not a clone.
I also have an EXI 500cf it is not a bad heli to fly but I just think that my Esky 900rc
is better ( my opinion only)
I also find it's really easy to set it up then you just dont have to touch it.
I also have a couple of Esmart 600's and these are just the greatest to have
and fly.
Parts for the Esky 900rc .........................xheli.com

.................................................. ........jaghobbies.com

The Esky 900rc just needs a few of the right people to give it some good reviews
and then it would be more popular and seen as a good heli in it's own right.

By for now,
fitzy.

Do you know that xheli.com had Esky 900rc on sale for $117.00usd that's a great
price for a well made Heli.
Hope you are able to get one.

And do you know it doe's not matter what heli anyone has because you
can still crash them all the same ways.
I just crashed my Esky 900rc because I to close to a tree.
But it does not matter because its all back together and ready to trim up.

by for now and fly well,
fitzy.

fitzy, how much cyclic and collective pitch range are you getting out of your esky 900?

You have to remember that the people who don't have them are the people with years of experience and can tell that it's not going to be a good flier just by knowking some facts and numbers on the helicopter. Let alone the reliablilty and durability side of things.

The pitch range on the Belt CP is -+8 because the design is not capible of going further without the parts binding. A trex or good brand heli gets -+12 easily. Any good flier will immediatly stay away from the Belt CP because it can not perform to the rate they want. The pitch range is just one factor, there are many more, like cyclic pitch, piro rates etc etc. There's no personal opinion in these departments, the numbers say it all, and it's not just theory because the real life flying says it all.

Now, I can't say this about the ESKY 900 because I don't know the facts about it's mechanical capibilities, which is why I have asked for some.
All I can tell you is that the pictures look like a scaled up Belt CP but with a metal frame. The mechanical design of the head is the same as the belt cp. Maybe they have tweaked it somehow to allow for more throw? That aside, if it is just as bad as the Belt CP then it's a very poor helicopter.

Maybe if fitzy shows me that this heli can get -+12 on the collective, I will definatly stop being so harsh on it. But even then, that doesn't say it's a good flier, there are so many factors that come into it.

My point still stands, why would you pay more for a helicopter with a very bad head design and plastic parts which has a very slow roll and flip rate (by the looks of videos). When you can get a MUCH better designed helicopter with a carbon fibre frame, aluminium head which is capible of very hard 3D? There's just no logic.

The only logic I see, is if you really have a passion for the way the 900 looks.

Just look at these two videos. The 900 can just about do loops and rolls. The Trex 500 is soo more capible of hard 3D it's like the difference of night and day. If you don't watch the videos, that's probably because your in denial of the fact that there is no logical explination to buy an esky 900.

A friend of mine just showed me an article in (I think) RC Heli Magazine about the Esky 900.

The one in the article had a beautiful looking CNC head/tail and a carbon fiber frame and tail boom.

I searched and searched the web for a place that sells one like I saw in the article but I can't find anything else like it. Did anyone else see that article? Anyone know whats up?

It actually looked really nice, which surprised me. It actually looked more along the lines of the E-Smart quality wise.
