I've actually got a back-up one if needed

I think we were going to try for a big MCPX fly-off thing last year, but I don't think we were able to do it. It was pretty busy all weekend. With 4 days planned this year though, it might be a possiblity

How far away is the event field from Fallbrook airport? I think the current plan is to fly over and save the drive time. 2 hours sure beats 8...

Might be 20 mins - if that. Head South on S. Mission (S13), turn left on Mission (S76), cross the freeway, turn left at Pankey road.

Skiddz,

I live in Escondido about 10min up the 15 to Johnson Field. I heard rumors they were going to close that airfield? Is this true?

I've never been there, but I've wanted to check it out. From Google Maps satellite image, it looks like a very nice field and pretty big too?

That's eventually the plan from what I've heard, but it won't be for a few years yet.
