A softer transition is good to the gears.
I couldn’t find anything about this on the manual, so I’m assuming this esc doesn’t have such feature.
Am I right?
Thanks.
I run the gov on my X5 (on the GE-610). Run a 6S configuration. Gov needs to be high rate.

There is no soft transition in the ESC between speeds (dependent on TX, could do this in the transmitter though).

If the gov is enabled, there is really no "normal" mode. Once you get over the gov threshold, the go is enabled. This is fine for me as I do not ever fly in "normal" mode.

Was pleasantly surprised last time I started to throw it around trying tic-tocs (don't do them much). The gov held the head speed quite well despite the heavy variable loading. (I tend to run a head speed near 95% of max speed on the 6S setup at 22.2v rating, so not much head room).

I have found the gov works well for my mild 3D type flying, but other hard smackers here on HF have been less satisfied with the results. Stock GUEC GE 100 A ESC Gov Question

Agreed. I ran teh gov on the same esc but the HV version. The ESC controller board is exact same but the mosfets are diff.. It was good but not comparable to the proactive vbar gov. I love the sound of the governor, and with the proactive it kicks in much earlier in manuevers it feels like. If you can hook up a proactive, I suggest doing it.

I haven't used the program box but I find it fast enough to program. I've never felt that it's particularly slow, but I'm sure it's slower than the program box as for the most part you're listening out for a specific sequence of beeps which identifies the particular feature you want to change.

If you're constantly tweaking ESC settings then it would become frustrating, but for the few times a year I need to change something it's no big deal. Also I exclusively use HW ESCs, not just on the X5.

It can be programmed fine by the motor beeps.

Fairly easy to program (but programming is limited).

This one works exactly the same - you just need to get the programming box rather than the Castle link cable go connect to your computer

At least for the newer 100A HW Platinum (the newer black ESC) there is also a simple and cheap USB connection cable to run the HW software from a PC or laptop. Many people don't know about this alternative which is super easy and cheap for the occasional setup change at home.

Don't think the old golden GE-610 has this option though. I sold mine new from the combo and bought the black Platinum plus USB cable for the money - never regretted.

Since in put the platinum 100 on, I'm getting 30sec more flight time. Programmer is worth the investment.
