Xera 4530 and Helijive--shut down..anyone else?

Experienced a shutdown in flight with my Xera 4530 and Helijive 120 today..first one in over 75 flights...anyone experience a problem with this combo? Resulted in mild crash and damge...

2100 headspeed, 12.5/12.5 pitch, Kontronik Heatsink installed, poor airflow cooling inside the 7HV cowl..

That sucks. Were there any error codes flashing? Might give some idea exactly what caused it to crap out.

Sorry to hear that Jim. Hope it wasn't too bad.
I have several hundred flights on my two 7HV's (same as yours, HeliJive, Hyperion phase sensor, vbar governor and Xera 4530) with zero problems.

I did cut some cooling holes in the canopy (1 on top and 1 on bottom), but my ESC and motor never get hot at all before (126 on the motor and 100-110 on the ESC max.). It does run a little cooler with the canopy holes, but it really wasn't hot before either.

Was anything hot after the crash?

I'm running a 14T pinion at 1800, 2000 and 2200 headspeeds with +-13.0 pitch.

Love that canopy... I didn't check the temp after crash. ... I also didn't think to check for the HJ blinking.

I've been running the Jive gov. and not the VBAR, but I'm going to set that up next...I temper the HJ120 yesterday after flying, and it reached 120f or so.... It's flown great for about 75 flights before this...nothing serious as far as damage, have back in air soon...

I'm running 14t as well, about same head speeds....I'm going to go through whole system, check everything out, and put back into the air...

I have over 500 flights also on the HJ with vbar gov and never had a shut down I have used the Xera 4530 , Xera 4035 480kv, and the Black edition pyro all with great results.

250 flights with my E7 at 2150hs, Jive 120 and 4530. No problems, comes down cool.

You may want to check your motor for impedance faults and resolder your esc to motor connections, as per MrMel vid.

What were the shutdown error codes?
