Step G does one servo at a time, while Parameter A is like a cyclic adjustment.

G is where you do your mechanical setup. A is to use traditional "trim" if necessary. If G is done correctly and you set your CG properly, no adjustment should be needed in A.

My Step G is setup and level. The heli still have a little bit of left and back drift that i want to get rid of. Should I go back into step G or just trim it out on parameter A?

If step G is done correctly (level swash and zero degrees of pitch at the blades while the servos are in their adjusted center positions) there shouldn't be any drifting.

If setup was done correctly, two things come to mind.

1. You have sub trim or trim in the transmitter on aileron and/or elevator. Make sure they are zero in all flight modes and rebind. If you had trim, you'll need to re-do the setup.

2. You have vibes that are causing the drift. Make sure you're not using the stock mounting tape. Try the 3M 411 or 4011 tape........one layer for e-birds, two layers for n-birds.

If you make a adjustment in Parameter A.
Afterwards you adjust in Step G,
Will the adjustments you made in Parameter A be negated?

Yes, if you adjust A, then all your careful efforts at G will be for nought, as they are essentially the same thing, but just applied differently, or vice versa.

Parameter A applies them as though they were trim, applied across all servos at once, and step G applies it to one servo at a time. Additionally parameter A allows quick access whilst at the flight line, whilst step G is not so easy to access, or adjust.

Cheers

I am glad to see this thread because my current understanding of Setup Step G and Parameter A is correct, well after hours of scratching my head. I use Setup Step G to center the servos, then mechanically level the swashplate but since my 300X doesn't have true turnbuckles you can only get it within 1 turn. What I found is you can just tap the servo adjustment to get the swashplate perfectly level. Now the 300X comes straight up and no drifting while in the air.

The weird thing I have noticed with parameter A, the one time I did use it to correct a left drift during punchout, I needed to feed left cyclic while in the parameter to correct the left drift. I first tried to adjust with right cyclic, but that just made the drift worse.
