Question

Xtreme Trex 250 landing gears:

Im just thinking about the fitting...I plan to use 5mm height plastic spacer and M2/M2.5/M3 - 12-14 screws with nuts.
BUT Im affraid the screw set would be "very" heavy... ? or is there other solution for the fitting??

...maybe using titanium screws?

Exclamation

I have found a really good battery offer:
http://cgi.ebay.com/3x-3-7V-900mah-2...#ht_2447wt_905

900mah 25C AND you get a 3x balance cable! so you can the three batts on your CX2 balance charger at the same time!

Will they fit into the stock holder. Also with the balance cable does it mean you can charge all 3 batteries at once?

Have also found these http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:IT anyone tried them ?

Yes, the ballanced chargers are for 2-3cell LiPos...the 120SR charger is for 1S - 1 cell LiPos...so you CANT use my link , but you can use the Tigers cable for the stock 120SR charger. (the batteries will be charged at 0.7mA / 5 so it will be veeery slooow, but you can charge 5 batts multiple. With the pack I have found is great, because those 3 batts can connect to a ballanced charger and the charger will "think" that hey its a 3S 11,1V battery
(called "balanced" because it charges the cells separately)

So I would choose for custome batt mod that 900mAh 25C triple pack with balanced cable and the balanced charger (you can charge them SEPARATELY with the stock charger of coz!)
OR
for the stock battery holder I would get the Intellect 550mAh 25C for around 5GBP + shipment.

I have the same batteries. Max flying time in my 120sr is about 10 minutes but I reduce it to 7 or 8 minutes to extend battery life. Mine are $39.99 plus $10 shipping for 10 batteries. $5 bucks each total is a good price for 25c 900mah batteries. From Ebay the link is: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...STRK:MEWAX:VRI

Here is the battery holder I made by cutting off the bottom half of an extra battery holder and gluing a strip of basswood to it. I had to drill a hole in the wood to access the mounting screw and I rolled a small log of electrical tape and attached to the top rear of the wood so just one set of rubber bands would hold the battery to the mount. The front of the battery is supported by the canopy. Here are some pictures:

Wow! Great! If you rewire the chopter (replacing the motor and battery cables) you would get more power!

Glad to hear that you using them with satisfaction! Im very curious about mine! I hope that next week I can finish my mods (Xtreme Trex 250 landing, tail support, batteries... )

Default Mods so far

Being new to the heli r/c world, I have spent twice as much time on the internet as flight times lol. Although I have been running the 1/8 scale nitro trucks for nearly fice years, the heli is a different beast to say the least.

So far on my 120sr I have:
-Trimmed landing gear to avoid servo contact
-Dollar store door hanger foam cut to make a blade holder
-Power switch( no more racing to get the battery plugged in and heli stable b4 the gyro cal.)

Thats it so far, next will be a parallel y harness for two stock batteries. maybe a zip tie support tray under the main gear...I'll have pics.

Cheers

When using 2 stock batteries in parallel I found you can use two stock battery holders glued side to side turned around backwards on the front body mount. You have to clearance the battery mounts to clear the body mount holder. The batteries fit a little tight inside the body but will fit. I do this but i also have a 1mm piece of plastic under my gaui 200 skids. With 2-56 allen bolts through the plate and the LG a 1mm thick nut on the bolts makes it perfect height to glue the battery holder to, and still get the body mount through the factory "eye" of the battery holder. I had to clearance the battery holder to be able to get to get the bolts in and had to grind the heads down to stop the batteries from dragging on them but it works perfect. If you need/want pics ill be happy to take them and post in high res to show you what I'm talking about.

Just a guess but id say its a Century Evolution 180

My question is how much does it weigh?

Yes, it's a Century Evolution 180. I think it's on the heavy side at 3.1 grams heavier then stock. The plastic is much thicker then stock. For $6 bucks painted I couldn't resist. I could trim more off of it as well, so don't let the extra weight full you. With guys putting cameras and everything else on here the canopy is pretty light in comparison to some other mods I've seen.

I extended the tail boom 20mm with solid rod. It actually is tail heavy so the little bit of extra weight on the front doesn't hurt.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention. I didn't have a drill bit small enough to drill into the frame. I used a sewing needle heated up with a lighter. Went through like butter! No mess and it was the perfect size to start the screw into.

Wham you say you extended the boom with solid rod what do mean exactly? How could you use solid rod? I don't see a splice or anything.. What about the motor wires..?
