Quick uk tailhub
I just mounted a quick uk tailhub. Only modify needed was to trim down the alu where the bal link are.. This eliminates the tailwag and less play in the tail

Trim down 2-3mm of the arms on the bladegrips. Be sure to trim down equal on both sides.

It would be NICE to see Compass come out with a fully thrusted ROBUST metal tail rotor. In flight what is now is fine, but smallest bump and word of replacement. In flight for high RPM and demands making one out of metal makes sense IMO!

Hi Joachim, I see you have a scorpion HK 50xx in it and got rid of the topsides of the frame.
Did you notice any negative side effects on frame stability ? thanks sebastien

isnt the pitch range of the tail blades changed with the quick uk tail grips?
The position of the balls on the grips has shifted and I would even think it has changed the pitch range in the wrong direction. Pitch with the slider to the left was already limited and now even more as it seems to me. Or have you changed the limits accordingly? Or has the arm from ball to center also changed? |

The limit is littlebit less to left.. But it's more than enough to make the blades stall. So this is not the problem. what's with the original bladegrips is that thei flattens out at high rpm and leaves fluttre sound whit 110-115 tail blades. whit this upgrade it almost feel like the nexd D rave tail =) it feels more locked

I was just looking over my Raptor 50 Quick UK tail. It looks like one might be able to use the Y arm so you don't have to file the grip root. I think you could use the 7HV stock brass slider and bearings and just thread them into the Y arm. I'll have to check the threads in the Y arm to see if they would accept the stock slider brass.
The connectors from the Y arm to the grips doesn't use ball links on the QUK tail, they are bushing raced and by nature possibly a bit less binding than ball links. It will be a while until I can determine this because I have no intention of taking my 7HV apart right now to confirm this. I'll order a spare tail slider brass bushing and check it against the threads in the QUK Y arm to determine if this would in fact work.

Instead of cutting down the grips for the balls just flip the tail pitch links around and use the swash balls. I saw a guy does this on some metal align grips.

I recently used the stock Outrage fusion 50 tail blade grips on my 6hv and 7hv and they fit and it fixed my wag issue on my 6hv ive also used JR VIBE tail blade grips also and they work but with them you have to use longer balls with longer stand off's on them and with the fusion 50 tail i need ball with no stand offs shorter the better...so those two brands also work on the compass heli's gunna pick up a quick uk tail now to try also..... good thread gave me more ideas
i see above that you guys trimmed down the alum on the blade grips but just using balls with no stand off that should help and no need to mod anything...thats why i did with my outrage tail cause the balls were to far out so i just used balls with no stand offs/necks and that brought them down enough so im thinking the same should work with the quick uk grips

Anyone got part numbers for these tail mods?
Practicing auto the other day, got the tail to low, fin flexed..bent tail hub, ruined my 106 rails, and broke both tail grips... Thought I'd try to fool proof it a little... I'm the fool This is a great heli! Ballistic is sold, second 7HV kit will be here tomorrow

Which pitch slider/fork do you use with the QUK tails?

Tail Hub and Grips for Rave ENV
The Quick UK Tail Hub and Grips for Rave ENV are a direct bolt-on replacement for the 7HV.
They come factory with the standoffs machined to the correct size for the 7HV. I have been using them for sometime now. Here is the link: http://www.experiencerc.com/store/tx...ck-p-9070.html
