Default VBAR layout?

Hi all,

My Vbar setup should be arriving tomorrow and i was wondering if any of you have installed one and where to lay everything out in the limited space available.

Many Thanks,
Neil

when i had a Vbar i had the gyro sensor box on top of the boom block, I removed the rx tray completely and mounted the main unit upside down on the boom block with the receiver the right way up below on the bottom tray , the 3" cables provided then fittted nicely between the two

great thanks for the idea..

Wouldnt the vbar unit be better mounted on the base plate instead? Or is it swings and roundabouts?

How did you find the performance on the vbar?

Many Thanks mate

One thing to consider if you mount both on the boom block, more tape removal / replacement if need to service or replace gears in TT or belt. RX is directly on the bottom plate. The 3" leads work just fine between the control module and RX.

Here's how I did mine:

I made myself a Lexcen gyro tray (similar to RDlohr's) that all the pieces fit onto. It is as long forward of the mounting screws as it is behind them.

I can service the tail no worries and can remove all the control electrics with the removal of 4 screws.

When I organise myself I will put the Rx on top of the tray at the front (servo sockets facing down and forwards) and the VBar will then slide forwards, to be under the Rx, and all but dissapear inside of the frames. I have been thinking it would need longer leads to do this but upon thinking about it a bit more I could do it with the stock leads.
