I got a great deal on it and it is a edge so I will be getting data from it as well.

cc 160hv = 8.2 oz (232.8g)

cc 120hv = 5.2oz (148.8g)

Electrically it will work fine and provide you with a sizeable current safety headroom. Is a BEC included and if so what is the power is the rating on it.

As far as the extra weight (3Oz) is really up to your flying style and whether weight is a critical factor in the design of this particular heli.

Both answers are true. It will work ok but equally it is a bunch of unnecessary weight on a heli that's a bit on the heavy side at the best of times. Fitting it under the canopy may be tricky too?

Bear in mind that the standard ESC on the 600 was until very recently the castle 80A HV which weighs 124g.. so you are adding over 100g.

Thanks for the replies guys. I think I will try it and do some data logging and if the amps are super low even in hard flight i will sell it and get something smaller. That is if I can fit it all under the canopy

You dont need 160a.

80a is fine so long as you set castle gov to insensitive if you fly hardcore 3d.

I use a 2550mah receiver pack on my 600l together with 80a. Perfectly balanced heli and better redundancy than a bec. If you go with a bec consider a optiguard or bug

Flying it for just over year and a half. Flying it hard and never any issues.

It's never too much!

But yeah, possibly overkill and extra weight.

dam, what heli would require a 160? should i just sell it and get a 100 amp and some cash? I thought upgrading this motor to a 750mx in a 600 would be super powerful and require a good power system. but I'll see what the logging says about how much amps i'm pulling first

The 750MX was standard in the later versions of the 600 Pro and is standard in the all 600L.. Almost all of those were fitted with a Castle Edge 80A HV ESC which worked fine even for the hardest of flyers

Not necessarily. The 750MX is a 700 class motor and it was very easy to overtemp the 80A Castle ESC. Many people began upgrading to a 120 for that reason. Now they include the Align 130A which is actually lighter than the Castle 120 (when considering the Castle needed an external BEC or RX Pack). And is a much nicer ESC overall.. Definitely overkill but it will run nice and cool.

I run the Align 750MX on a Yep120 ESC on 12s No Problems at all...
I ran a Castle 80HV until it turned into the 4th Of July in the air .... But at that time Castle was having some problems........ They called them Ice 80HV's should have been called Fire 80HV's

I have been flying my edge hv 80 on the stock 600l dominator very hard. Fast piroflips tonnes of elev and aileron tic tocs pogo piroflips and full speed runs in a single flight and have not had any issues at all running 80amps on a 12s setup.

It does not get hot but that is a function of your pwm timing setup

The only thing i would comment is that once in a while after a very hard flight flight i do get the long beep short beep warning - overcurrent.. but it never causes a soft start as i have insensitive set!

1.5 years now no crashes and still going strong
