Default Rail Night Blades

They're here! 696 night mains and 106mm night tail blades available now at the Synergy store They perform very close to regular Rail blades and are very rigid.

This is a pic Matt sent me of the bottom and tail blades. I'm not positive about the top.

Hmm I wish the bottom and top was different. I would like to try night flying sometime but I think they would have to be different colors.

Camera plays tricks when capturing the blades spinning at night.
The bottom is blue, green, and white.
The top is green and white.
One thing I like about the color scheme is it's brighter than the others and enables me see the ground easier when doing auto rotations at night.

Default Rail Night Blades

I flew the new Rail Night Blades at BHAM this last weekend. I have to say my excitement for night flying has been rejuvenated!

Very smooth especially the lighter tail blades which have one battery instead of two reducing the overall tail blade weight and stress on the tail for smoothness, balance and reliability. Last year I had difficulty running my E7 at anything above 1900 rpm's due to vibrations and humming coming from the tail blades. In fact one of the tail blades broke the grip off causing a crash.

The main blades stiffness compared to my old set of night blades is significantly different much more similar to the 696 rails. It was actually funny to see Matt running the night blades during the day and still having it perform as it did, not even bothering to switch them back over to the day blades.

Again I'm very excited to do some night flights this year there's a lot of time post dusk tim to get a few extra flights in. Sometimes it's the only time I have to fly thanks to my wonderful children.

I absolutely love my Rail's!!!!!! I got hooked on night flying by the HOD construction lights and then seeing the night rigs at ircha....I just had to. When I finally saw rail came out with a set which is the only brand I fly, I was wicked happy! The only thing I wish is they were 116's....but thats a minor tuning difference. Only 3 clicks of gain difference for me and they are holding like a champ!

I'm probably going to have to try a set of these eventually. I still have a set of Edge Night blades and I suspect the lighting design is very similar in terms of function, charging etc. I really do wish Matt would have had them do something that much more clearly separates top from bottom color wise

My biggest hope is that the blades are constructed much better than my Edge night blades. The Edges have something loose inside them. I can hear it rattling when I smack the blade against my hand. I suspect it is a wire or something else related to the lighting? At any rate one night I did a very minor overspeed, probably 2300 RPM or so, and the blades began buzzing audibly so loudly that I thought they were about to come apart. The buzzing went away after a few seconds but since then I do not fly these blades aggressively at all. Here's hoping Funkey did a better job with the Rails.

Default After 4 flights...

I think their great.
Got a chance last Thursday to put 4 back-to-back flights on the N7 dressed up for night time.

They do handle very much the same as the "day time" Rail 696...especially in autos. Was able to do rolling autos without any worry of too much HS decay, they also have nice hang at the end.

A buddy had a set of the Rail Tail Night blades...so gave them a try too. Need to buy a set for myself!

Only complaint is there is just a bit of fade in certain orientations...but I'll accept this over the time it takes me to put LEDs on a set myself.

Good job Matt!
