New to the HDX-500..servo suggestions..standard size??
Hey Guys,
I have a 500SE V2 inbound on a trade of the "standard servo" flavor. Since I'm new to the platform (450 guy making a change upward in size), I was curious about what servos are decent for sport flying? I have looked at a few Hi-Tech and Futaba ones, but was curious about what others may be using. I'm not a 3D guy, so sport flying demands will be the only ones that I impose on the bird (for now). Don't want to take out a second on the house in doing so as well. Any inputs are greatly appreciated. Best Regards, JC Austin, Tx |

Man, wish I could help you with a suggestion on the full sized servos. All of mine are the Hitec versions and I run the 85mg's. They are damn near bulllit proof. Give heli direct a call and ask for Jody or Larry. They will point you in the right direction for sure and can probably beat anyone's price too. Can't go wrong. You will love the bird, that's why I had 3 of them!!!

I'm running the Futaba S9650 digital servos on my HC500. Like you I didn't want to break the bank but was looking for a good sport to 3D setup. After a couple weeks of researching pretty much all the different options. And reading peoples feed back. I went the 9650's and have been vary pleased the choice. Really fast, grate torque and they always center flawlessly. Price wise there kind of mid range at around $50 each. But you know the old saying "you get what you pay for". For me at least they where a dam good investment.
