Default OS37 not able to take conrod out - strange plastic "piston pin retainer "

Hi dears,
in following procedure to replace the engines bearings , I got stuck not been able to get the conrod out. The conrod gets have way out but it is not slipping at the piston ring. I have put lots of WD40 to it but seems to not get loose. In looking closely I have discovered a strange " plastic like piece , gray color " coming out of the piston where the piston ring sits, ( piston ring retainer ) . It is not moving.
Please help , I am attaching pictures where the " gray color plastic piece is to see " It is an almost new engine.
Thank you very much
Greetings
Francisco

The gray color piece seems plastic and sits at the end of the piston ring , it moves as I slide the conrod.

What is this gray piece ? The retaining clip is supposed to be mettalic.

Default ?

taken a lot of model engines apart-never seen any plastic in there...sure it didn't get in there by accident?

You must remove the sleeve first and then the con rod will have enough space to slip off the crankshaft pin.

good luck!

Thank you Herky

It is not the first for me either. The plastic piece belongs to the engine. It is a new engine. Sleve is out and conrod will not get past for clearing the crankshat. Funny ehh ? Tried heat, solvent,...... conrod seems sticked to the piston connecting pin and drags it as you try take it out. The minimal distance the plastic piece takes up ( see photo ) is , I guess, the necessary for it to come out ...... Somebody already told me about these plastic pin retainers existing in other OS engines .... 50 Heli I think....

The rod should slide on wrist pin , you might need to work it a bit because carbon build up under piston . Take a zip tie around rod so you can grip without scaring and work back and forth while turning crank and it will work its way out .You can try heating whole motor in oven also might help ,325 10 min does wonders.
